Hey everyone,
Well uni has been going well lately and the work load has been alright. Exams in late January are looming though and not really looking forward to them. The grading scale is a bit different over here, as over 70% is considered a '1st' (or an A). So that will dominate my Christmas holidays while I'm not in Naperville, but I think the visit will have a really positive effect on me and likely have me in a good mood to study in. So something pretty crazy happened a couple of weeks ago. I met a girl who lived in Harpenden (where I live in England) pretty randomly and she said she knew another guy from there aswell. So she brought him over and on introduction we just stared at each other for a good half minute. Turns out it was my best friend from when I was five! In the past 13 years we had only seen each other once and the only communication we'd had was through Christmas cards. He's a really cool guy still and we've been hanging out a bit lately. It will be nice to know a few people back home now as over the summer it was a tad lonely after the move. Anyway, got lunch soon, but I don't know if people have heard of them much over there but they should check out Stereophonics. Their new album 'Language. Sex. Violence. Other?' is really quite catchy and I've been listening to it a lot. For those of you who watched The Office, they sung the theme tune 'Handbags and Gladrags.'
See you all soon!
Steve
