Chapter Two

Chapter Three       It seems unreal that he is now here not only in the Kingdom but in the palace as well, it is a strange feeling but yet I feel rather content.  Now, I watch him sleep.  Though he is human, it is the most beautiful sight I have ever laid eyes on.  After a short while his breathing seems to have returned to normal.  So now I let him rest, as I quietly leave the room, for I have other matters to attend to.

~~~       Slowly, I cautiously open my eyes.  Not entirely sure of where I was, or what had happened, but I assumed the outcome wasn’t a good one.  When I my eyes finally opened, I was shocked when I found myself in a large bed with a steel board and covered with a deep burgundy covers and sheets.  The room was dark except for the few candles that lay on the walls and table in the center of the room.  Looking down I noticed by clothes were changed from my ragged shirt and jeans to a matching silk red shirt and pants.
Confused, I stumbled out of the bed.  My head still ached from whatever happened before I blacked out.  The last thing I could remember was trying to find a way through the gates and trying to figure out how I was going to find my sisters.  Making my way to the door, I heard voices in the hall.  I couldn't make out what they were saying.  So deciding to wait until they left seemed like the best idea at the time, too bad it felt like a lifetime for them to leave!  I mean seriously what could people be talking about for so long in a hallway?!  But when they eventually did leave I crept open the door and snuck my way out of the room and down the hall.
~~~       It's been nearly four hours since I last saw my destined mate.  As I swiftly made my way back to my chambers, I found the door to be slightly open.  I don’t remember giving anyone orders to go into my room, I thought.  But then it dawned on me. Slightly panicked, I swing the door opened and  find the bed empty.  Where is he? After looking around trying to find any sign of where he might be headed, I find his sent still lingering and went looking for my prey....
~~~       I stopped in panic as I thought I heard someone coming towards me.  I couldn’t help that my eyes got bigger as the sound came nearer and nearer.  They tend to do that, not really sure why, might be some sort of reflex… Anyways, the sound eventually seemed to stop or so I thought.  All of a sudden someone’s arms wrapped around me, pulling me in, I gasped.  All I could hear is "Where do you think your going?" against my ear.
The only thing I could think of to respond with was, “no where?”
“Oh really now? That’s not what it looks like to me,” says the mysterious voice.
“Ok, well maybe I was just looking around, enjoying the scenery.”
“Uh-huh… You do realize that you aren’t so good with this lying thing, right?” She said as she wrapped her arms around me tighter and whispered in my ear.
“Well, I can’t say that I didn’t try and technically I never said I was a good one,” I cautiously replied.
“Haha, true,” she laughed in response to my lame comment. Wait… vampires laugh and have a sense of humor? Guess you learn something new everyday, except for the fact I’m not funny, or at least I wasn’t trying to be.
As I open my mouth to say something else, another vampire guard comes marching down the hallway. Great this is exactly what I need right now, more vampires, I thought sarcastically.  Before speaking a word, he respectively bowed, which to be honest kind of left me even more confused that I already was.
“Is everything alright, my lady? Can I help you dispose of this maggot?” the guard said with a disgusted look on his face, good thing I’m use to getting those sort of faces from people like him.
“No thank you, I’ve got everything under control.” She replied calmly. Maybe a little too calmly, yet again I still had no clue who was holding me down, but what I did know was that her grip on me was only getting tighter.
“Are you sure, my lady? One as noble, like yourself, shouldn’t be - ”
“I said I’ve got in under control!” She raised her voice and cut him off.  I could sense the rage coming from behind me and it didn’t help that her hold on me just kept on getting tighter and tighter.
Wincing from the pain, but too scared to say something, for all I knew just by saying “ow” I could have had my head ripped off by how pissed off she apparently was.  But at least the guard seems to have gotten the hint, as he slowly bowed, said his farewell and continued his way down the hall.  Sighing in relief as she loosened her grip on me, knowing my luck I will probably have a bruise there tomorrow.
She stood there for a moment before grabbing my hand and dragging me down the hallway back into the room I was at when I woke up.  I couldn’t get a good look at her face, mostly because her long flowing silver hair kept on getting in my face. Wait… silver hair?  I feel like I have seen this somewhere before, or well her at least.  Where could I have seen her before, and it had to be recently, because here is not a whole lot of people, even vampires, that have this kind of hair.
Once we were back in the bedroom it all start to make sense.  The silver hair, the mysterious voice, the rage… and as she turned around from closing the door that’s when I knew.  She was the girl from the vampire raid the other night… the vampire princess…
