Leaky Bastards

Indeed.
There were many, many reasons, two of them being my "Plot Development" and "Characterizations". Uh-uh. I've got that fic listed at Coloured Grey, Granger Enchanted, Quiet Ones, ffnet and affnet and I've heard a lot of things in the 1100 or so reviews it's generated by now, but THAT is something I've NEVER EVER heard!!! Other things they pointed out was stuff like me NOT putting an additional dot after an ellipsis at the end of a sentence or, you know *gasp* I missed one place where I spelled Muggle with a lower-case m! ("Canon Spelling"). The whole thing was so ridiculous that it left me gaping at the screen.
Reject me for my commas if you must. Yes, chapter one was a train wreck. Didn't clean it up that much before sending it on. Commas, I could understand and I would just send it to
kazfeist for betaing and retry with an apology for being sloppy. But I mean.. if they didn't like it - they could have just say so! Don't embarrass yourselves, people! Really. I, for one, lost all respect for this site.
It was The Leaky Cauldron Archive. Don't go there, children, they are asshats who don't grasp the concept of grammar (which I, by the way, have gotten MUCH better at! I hardly get any suggestions anymore after I clean up my own chapters!) and they just apparently want copies of JKR's books (insert snarky remark as to how that might be tied together with their skewed view of grammar).
One can only imagine how many actually brilliant writers they've crushed with their overbearing crap. If I hadn't posted anywhere and I had tried posting to them first, I would have been mortified about the "Plot Development" and "Characterizations" bit and hang my head in shame, and just not try again since it apparently sucked on so many levels. I don't claim to be a brilliant writer, but I do know that several people enjoy my work. That's enough for me.
The moral of this story? Stay away from The Leaky Cauldron. There are definitely better sites out there. And if they said you suck? Who are they to say that, anyway!? They're a bunch of conceited snobs as far as I can tell.

ravenesquesky's The Thrust Trust :D I love it. It's an original work, so I was a little bit scared to read it, but I don't regret it at all! There's plenty of yummy arrogant males, which I KNOW you love if you're even reading this! Now go and read and comment on her so I can get my chapter 7 faster!
I updated the rating for The Bracelet to an M15/R rating. I don't think it's quite going to be R, but what do I know, anyway? It'll be a long while till I reach that rating anyway.
I also tried to write down a full outline for The Bracelet, including a much needed timeline. My GOD, it's the outline that never ends. A full 2500 words later (and I tried to spare the details) I'm still nowhere where I can end it. This story will go on forever unless I get the characters to behave. But what do I know, with my missing Plot Development and Characterizations.
What? I'm still sore.
Off to try and add some more to my essay. The deadline is coming closer every day =(
