My grandparents (mother's side) are most likely not going to my brother's wedding. The reason they will not be attending is because my brother is not getting married in the Catholic church. In their words, "It would be hypocritical for any Catholic to attend such a wedding." How it's hypocritical, I'm not entirely sure. It makes sense to my grandmother, so you'd have to ask her.
The fact that they might talk some of my aunts and uncles out of attending sucks. My grandparents are also of the opinion that my sisters, other brother, father and I should not participate in the wedding (bridesmaids, groomsman and best man) as it will put our souls in danger. Bah. I'm already pretty much screwed as it is (at least by *their* standards), so I figure one non-Catholic wedding won't have much of an effect on the state of my soul. :-D
Hee. The whole thing is actually a little amusing. Never liked them much anyway, so I'm not terribly broken up about the fact that they won't be attending, and I don't think Aaron is either. I feel a little sorry for them too, as they are voluntarily shutting themselves out of the lives of their own family.
Oh well. It's worth it all, since we're getting Ashree as an official Pahl. I<3 Ashree. :-D
