I LOVE NEW JERSEY!!!
So today, the New Jersey supreme court decided that their constitution PROTECTS gay marriage.
As in, all same-sex couples now have the legal right to get married in New Jersey.
And UNLIKE Massachusetts, people from out of state *can* go to Jersey and get married.
Holy hell. There is hope for this country yet. I mean yeah, each individual state still gets to pick whether or not to acknowledge the marriage...but New Jersey took a huge step in the right direction. And it just goes to show that we're not completely overrun and controlled by the fudies just yet.
So even though the plan for now is to marry some guy, it's nice to know that if I ever meet the woman of my dreams we can always run off to 'Jersey together. :-D
