OMG I so love this show, and of course an episode cowritten by Roday is going to have it's cracky horror plots...( but what about )

(We seem to be going backwards timewise, so why fight it?)

Shawn stood just outside the door to the observation room, pouting. Buzz knew he'd deny it -- the pouting part -- but furrowed brow plus protruding lower lip... that was exactly the face Shawn made when he discovered that while the spirits had been guiding him to solve some petty crime, the SBPD had completed a major bust in his absence.

The priorities of the spirit world were kinda weird. Sometimes.

Fortunately, Shawn's unhappy moods were easy enough to lift. "Hey, Shawn, I'm going for smoothies. You in?"

And Shawn brightened right up. "Sounds great. I'll--" His eyes focused on something behind Buzz and went wide. "Chief Vick. Hi!"

"Spencer." She acknowledged and kept on towards the observation room. Shawn stepped between her and the door. She frowned, and Buzz braced for the explosion.

"Lemony Snicket," Shawn said, then frowned in confusion. "Lemonade? Lemon tree very pretty."

The chief sighed. "You have information on Joseph Lemon?"

Shawn nodded and pointed up towards her office.

She rolled her eyes. "This better be good."

As they turned the landing, Shawn stuck his head back around the corner. "The refreshing lemon-lime taste?"

Buzz grinned. "One large pineapple smoothie, coming up."

Shawn tapped his nose and pointed at Buzz before vanishing up the stairs.

Buzz opened the door to the observation room. Detective Lassiter was in there, as he'd hoped. (Last week, the head detective's order had been missed, and though he'd never admit it bothered him, he'd been prickly but quiet all that afternoon.) However, Detective Lassiter was not alone -- Gus was with him and well within the detective's well-defended personal space.

He didn't think he'd ever seen Detective Lassiter smiling like that. He quietly shut the door, figuring the interruption would not be appreciated. And anyway, Buzz knew his usual order.
