OMG I so love this show, and of course an episode cowritten by Roday is going to have it's cracky horror plots...( but what about )

Seriously, DON'T ENCOURAGE ME.

You see, two weeks ago, they had this fight, and it was kinda stupid. Because Lassiter was keeping secrets and not trusting Gus and... yeah, okay, Gus figured he could understand it. Maybe. So even though it was totally Carlton's fault, he was prepared to listen and probably forgive him when he called. Except Carlton didn't because he is socially inept, okay? and Gus wasn't going to call him.

Shawn bought him a lot of frosties last week. And was kind of hovering. Like a lot.

It was almost sweet. Not that he'd ever admit it.

And Lassiter still didn't call, and Gus realized they'd broken up when he wasn't looking. And that sucked, but... he guessed he'd kinda expected it. And at least when it actually happened, it wasn't Shawn's fault.

I've heard it both ways. akarui_rynka October 11 2009, 05:33:21 UTC
Encourage you? Nah, I'm just calling it like I see it.

See, Lassie is totally inept that's why instead of just shooing the wackadoo away he gave him Shawn and Gus' number because sure sending a nut job to Spencer was always satisfying but more importantly sending a case their way would almost certainly cause Gus (and Shawn) to make an appearance at the station.
He thought for sure Gus would understand that and so he waited at the station all night for him--er--them to show up.
When they didn't actually arrive until the next day Carlton slipped in front of Shawn and knew that he had to be more careful, what he didn't know was that he was not only being too careful he was sending Gus straight into the path of a very freaky girl.

Then again, that might not be such a bad thing ^_~ you know for when they eventually get back together.

The thing about Shawn is that he truly loves Gus and wants him to be happy, and part of that is finding a nice girl -- or nice guy, whatever -- to settle down with. And Lassiter? Is not that guy. The man's a cop, for Pete's sake. So he's spent the past two weeks feeling relieved that the two aren't talking and guilty for feeling that way when Gus is obviously hurt.

When Lassie pulls that business card from his shirt, that is practically a gift, because Shawn's pretty sure there's only one reason Lassie would wear a shirt two days running. And he's always been from the rip the bandaid off school. Gus needs the clean ending.

He has a few doubts later, when he witnesses Gus's near frantic flirting with (nearly) any woman they meet. But still -- Lassiter. Come on.

Being partners with Carlton Lassiter was almost like riding a roller coaster--backwards ( ... )
