237. Landslide TT_TT Whatever, I don't care anymore LOL

Okay, so yeah.

What I was talking about was an online dance contest prepared by none other than one of Korea's Top Entertainment Agencies; SM Entertainment. Me and my friend, Ha Jin joined the competition with high hopes that we can win first prize. But I guess that hope just dropped. This was the first time I actually experienced joining in a worldwide scale type of competition and I came to realization that when something like this is involved, there are a lot of damn good competitors.

Drats.

One group uploaded their entry like a day ago or two, and got straight 1k views! ;A; On the other hand, for us, we sent it around the first days of May and we had only around 840 views. Meanwhile that one group that I like the most joined in the contest just 2 days ago and BOOM. LANDSLIDE BISH. 6k views right away. And they won 1st place on an earlier contest from the same agency. TT__TT Although I am a fan of their cover group, I have to be honest; I felt frustrated. Frustrated because I felt that I wasn't good enough. At first watch I was okay with it, but the second time I watched it, It ruined my mood to the point that I walked out of the house, and started practicing the song again, this time watching videos over and over non-stop to see the mistakes I had. I seriously felt that I needed more practice. MORE PRACTICE IN MY DANCING SKILLS IN GENERAL.

I practiced until I felt my legs weak from 2 hours worth of dancing non stop. Right there and then, I just thought. "Ah~ It's okay even if we don't get 1st place. 2nd and 3rd place is okay, as long as we win." I didn't care for the first prize anymore. I just wanted us to win. We practiced hard on the song, from learning it and the difficulty of going to each other's houses just to teach each other the dance, even if we didn't know we have overlooked  some steps all this time. The heat in our country is very high, and for 4 straight hours under the heat we practiced and tried recording, almost fainting. Just by winning either 2nd or 3rd prize is enough for all the hard work and sweat we gave in...

My experience in joining a world-wide scale type of competition was eye-opening to me. It made me realize that there are a lot of good competitors and we really have to prepare big time the next time we join in another contest. As in big time. We have to make sure we nailed everything correct. And Oh, a studio is a plus too because when rehearsing we can easily see our mistakes. But it seems that there is a slim chance because dance studios are not many here. =n=

Oh well. Better luck next time.
