Here's the thing. I semi-agreed to go to Kuni's dad's company to try teaching a lesson.
The information:
2-5 students
What they want to learn:
???
Students english levels:
?!?!?!?!?!
Added difficulty:
Kuni's dad is the company president and will be taking lessons with his underlings so it'll be my job to teach everyone but also make sure he doesnt suffer shame by his lack of english ability. I've spoken to him before.. he's VERY elementary.
.....T_T;;;
So what I need is a 1 to 2 hour intro lesson that will teach them all something and assess their levels individually as well as a group so for the love of god.. somebody please give me advice. T_T I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO DO THIS..
oh dearest friend who teaches.. can dost advise thouest desperate buddy? (what is this language im speaking) :B
My ideas so far: Nothing waah... well not true. Im thinking some kind of introduction lesson where I can check their levels and teach them how to greet in casual situations and in business situations. Im hoping that the formal/casual language will strike their interest.
Like these sentences:
Hi I'm (Liz). Whats up?
vs.
Hello, nice to meet you. My name is (Elizabeth W.).
I live in (Kawasaki) and work in (Tokyo) as a (Teacher).
I'm from (America). I grew up in (Boston).
I'm (single/married with 2 children).
I like reading books and sightseeing.
I studied (Japanese) in (highschool)/for(1 year)/at (school).
And I should probably teach them the questions to go with...ie.
What's your name. Where are you from? Where do you live? What do you do? Do you live with family? What do you like to do in your free time? Did you study English before?
Aaaah.. im so overwhelmed you have no idea. But the money would be so good... ;.; but if i screw it up i'll lose face and kuni's father will be angry. Waaaah.
The biggest issue is filling the time. NO... Preparing for different levels or all mixed together so my plan can be flexible. No... finding the best method to assess them in a group.
At nova we assess people individually so im not certain how to do it in a group? Maybe a quiz or something? But then I have to know what their incorrect and correct answers mean @_@;; aaaah!
