[fic] Love the Way You Lie - Part Two

Oct 26, 2014 18:05

Title: Love the Way You Lie - Part One
Pairing: Jin x Kame
Rating: R to NC-17 (somewhere in that range anway)
Genre:  AU, drama
Disclaimer: I don't own KAT-TUN, any of its members, any other JE people.  I write this for fun and for other fans of these fine folks.  But don't steal my plots, mmkay?  I put a great deal of time into them except for when I'm randomly spastically spitting words onto a page.  But I value those too...
Disclaimer: This particular fic and its title are based on the song and video by Eminem and Rihanna "Love the Way You Lie" and I tried to incorporate little things here and there from the video when I could to help get the same flavor but other parts of this story are completely my own imagining.  Hopefully, I've blended it all together smoothly into an awesome story (^_^)b

Summary:  Love doesn't ask our permission and love never apologizes.  We can fight the current or we can swim along with it but we will never completely escape it.

A/N:  I tried to get this part to be the same in narrative voice (if that's a technical definition for something and it doesn't mean what I'm using it to me, gomen m(_ _)m but go with it please) as the first part but it doesn't seem to wanna happen.  And this ends at a much sooner point than where I wanted part two to end, which means there will be more parts than originally envisioned.  I just really didn't wanna make you guys wait any longer for this.  Also, some lines I wrote for this which are actually appropriately awesome got moved to the next part so I can at least say there's a bit of the original voice that'll be in the next part.  So for now, here's this:

Love the Way You Lie - Part Two

The food was gone and the bottle of wine was nearly empty when Jin’s entire demeanor shifted.  “So… ah… you know they’ve been talking to me about doing the photography for Ueda Tatsuya’s new line, right?”

“You mean the Goddess Glam thing?” Kame asked before he remembered he wasn’t actually supposed to know that name.  He only found out because one of his coworkers had a brief affair with the designer a few months ago.  He blamed the wine.

“How…?” but Jin shook just his head and instead continued with, “Yeah.  Anyway, they really want Kuroki Meisa as lead model for both the ads and the show itself, so we’re going to be working pretty closely over the next few weeks.”

“Why are you telling me this?  She’s not the first model you’ve worked with since we met.”

Jin looked suspiciously like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar in that moment.  “I can promise you we’ll only be working but… well, there’s this thing about it and you’re not going to like it at all.”

So that’s what this dinner was all about?  Jin wasn’t trying to work things out with him at all.  He just had bad news and wanted Kame in a good mood before telling him.  It hurt but he wasn’t going to give Jin the satisfaction of admitting that.  Instead he sat there and listened to Jin’s explanation…

…and just as Jin said, he didn’t like it at all.

There’s an old adage that no publicity is bad publicity and with that in mind, the agency - with much scheming on the part of Nishikido-san - hatched a plan.  They wanted to draw more attention to the Goddess Glam project and decided that a small scandal was exactly the sort of thing they needed.  What better scandal than a hidden relationship between the lead model and the photographer?  Not that there’d really be a relationship - at least, Jin was quick to assure Kame of this - but a few suspiciously-timed meetings alone would be fertile soil in which the rumors could take root and blossom.

“In other words, dates?”

“No, not dates.”

“Then what would you call them?”

“Ah… business discussions with really good food?”

Jin went on to explain that not every meeting would be the two of them alone - plenty of times Ueda-san would also be with them as well as some of the other models involved later on - and since the relationship would be complete fiction it would be utterly unprovable which was why it was such a good idea in the eyes of Jin’s boss.  Of course, Jin would have to take his ring off because it was identical to Kame’s and would therefore undermine the believability of the scandal, but he promised to always put it back on when he got home.

Speaking of which, Jin added, “And I probably be coming home really late until this project is over.  But that just means you won’t have to fix me dinner because I’ll be eating out most nights, so it’s not all bad, right?”

“Is that all?”  Kame was quite proud of himself for keeping his temper in check when he wanted nothing more than to scream at Jin.  One week of this had been enough and now Jin was telling him it’d continue - for a couple of months at the very least - and he’d be pretending to secretly date her to boot?

“I think… there was something else but for the life of me I can’t remember right now.”

Great.

“What if I don’t agree?  What if I said I don’t want you to do this?”  Surely if Jin told Nishikido-san he couldn’t do it, the man could find another way.  He was nothing if not resourceful or at least that’s what people said about the man.

“This is the biggest project in my entire career and you want me to turn it down?” Jin’s smile faltered.  “I thought you’d be more supportive.”

“I didn’t say to quit the project.  Just refuse to participate in the scandal.”  He knew he wasn’t being unreasonable.  Couldn’t Jin see how much this would hurt?  Being treated like a dirty secret to support the illusion of some other dirty secret?

“Don’t you think I tried to refuse?  Nishikido-san said it’s all or none.  I go along or I don’t do the project.”

Kame wasn’t sure he believed Jin has asked about it at all.

The rest of the date passed in angry silence.  Not a single word passed between them the whole way home.  Jin was sulking… but it didn’t stop him from seducing Kame the moment the house door closed behind them.

Why did he keep giving in?  Was he really so weak that a few kisses and a case of the roaming hands were enough to crumble his resolve?

As two more weeks slowly passed, a sadness settled over him - thick and dark as a heavy fog - draining him of vitality.  He found himself spending most of his free time at home staring at the wall.  Jin was almost invariably drunk by the time he stumbled home.

Drunk… and horny.

And - ultimately and unfortunately - completely irresistible.

The listless depression faded into finicky restlessness as a third and then a fourth week passed.  The Goddess Glam project’s first press conference went well by all measures.  As for the second one, Kame saw it on television.  He saw the subtle glances and from what he later read he wasn’t the only one who noticed.  Even the magazine Kame worked for wrote about the project - carefully since they were a part of the same agency and therefore couldn’t accuse them of the relationship outright - and he had to approve the final draft of the article.

It was a nightmare all around.

After another week and a particularly lurid article in one of the tabloids, Kame had enough.  He couldn’t sit there all alone every night climbing the walls.  He was going crazy that way.  The next time his coworkers asked him to join them after work, he was going with them.

Jin was less than understanding when he mentioned it that night; that is to say he outright forbade it.  Kame never should have mentioned his coworker’s crush to Jin.  It was months ago - the two lovers laughing in bed and sharing stories of their day - but apparently Jin still remembered and it made him unreasonable on the whole subject.  Another week passed but Jin wouldn’t budge on the subject.

Kame loved Jin with all of his heart but things couldn’t stay like this.

That’s when he decided he didn’t need Jin’s permission anyway.  It was only as a sign of respect that he asked him in the first place and clearly respect was something Jin didn’t care about anymore.

His coworkers were surprised that evening when Kame didn’t turn them down.  The whole way to the bar they teased him for being an old man who didn’t know how to have fun despite the fact he was the youngest of the entire group.  It had been over a year since the last time he went with them…

Getting out of the house did help his mood, at least in the moments he was too distracted to think about Jin and how angry he’d be when he found out.  Being out with friendly faces instead of staring at walls fuming was wonderful.  He had so much fun, even if he did have to deal with Junno-kun’s silly attempts to flirt with him.

Taguchi Junnosuke - he was the reason Jin had forbidden this in the first place - was actually pretty cute with dark hair and a boyish smile but it wasn’t enough.  Though he couldn’t deny there were problems in their relationship recently, Kame would never betray Jin over a cute face.  Even when Maru and Koki started to tease Junno over his failed attempts to charm Kame, it was all in good fun and the four of them clinked glasses and laughed.

Kame still got home before Jin but he was so tired he fell asleep.  He vaguely remembered a horny Jin trying to wake him up or maybe he just dreamed that because he was alone as usual when he got up the next morning.

Things went on like that for the rest of the week, with Kame spending a couple of hours after work each night out with some combination of Maru, Koki, and Junno.  It was great but… well, they weren’t Jin.  They weren’t Jin and he hadn’t actually seen the man who slept beside him at all that whole week.  And when the trio of his coworkers started discussing the rumors of Jin and Meisa one night, Kame had to hold his tongue and it only made him miss Jin more.

What should he do?  He couldn’t just stay home every night but he’d never mend his relationship with Jin if they never even saw each other awake.  This loneliness… was Jin feeling it too?  Was this driving the hunger in Jin’s touches and kisses every night?

Another half-week passed but at this rate things would never get better…

That Thursday, Kame decided to go straight home, make a pot of coffee when he got there, and stay up as long as it took for Jin to get there.  Somehow… somehow, he’d resist Jin’s hands and lips and they’d have a nice, long talk.  It’s what they needed, right?

But things don’t always go according to plan…

A/N: So there you go.  It doesn't SOUND right but all the right plot bits are in there so you're still getting just as compelling a plot even so.  Hope you enjoyed it and I'll be hard at work on the next part as soon as I'm done watching BSSM (yeah, I'm getting my nostalgia on with original first season subbed Sailormoon... it's both of my past and new at the same time because I've never seen the non-butchered version before but if I hadn't watched Sailormoon so much when I was little, I never would have been set upon the path of KAT-TUN love!  Plus I wouldn't know you awesome people!!  Hooray for Sailormoon!).
