my ramen's getting soggy
So I promised underhandycat0 that I would post in this journal. Come on, it's technically still the weekend...for ME. haha She's probably the only one reading this, anyway, but if anyone else is...nah. I'm not even going to go there. No one else is reading this. While I AGREE that the ratio of commenting:favouriting and alerting is WAY OFF (especially, favouriting! You'd think if someone likes the story enough to add it to their favourites, they'd drop a 'this was a good read' or something?!) three reviews in TEN MINUTES ain't nothing to complain about.
Ooh, a competition at school? forgive me if i've previously asked, but what do you study? I study bio, biochem and jap, with japanese as my minor and the other to as my majors.
RL xD I always think it stands for REMUS LUPIN and I'm like huh, say what? I cannot believe you eat soggy ramen. HEATHEN, HEEEEEEEEEEATHEN. Tbh, I'm not CRAZY about noodles, because I'm a spoilt at home student. Like, I like going OUT to eat them, but I'm not keen on the just add water ones that sell for seven pence. Then again, the cup ones are pretty decent.Spicy is good :D

I'm so lame when it comes to like, music in GENERAL. I mean I have songs I like, a lot, but it's either what other people rec for me, or what I hear in a film or on tv. THUSWISE I never have a clue what the kids are listening to and the only japanese band I could say I have ANY familiarity with are AKFG. But I will check out this 12012 thingy. Sounds BADICAL.
That was an adequate post, I am most pleased with you. As your reward, this Friday the final part of TBiTP is like, really long. But it was gonna be anyway tbh. Actually speaking of, I need to fix that ending... Arg.

Anyway. OH WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT. Just posting a "here, I did it" would have sufficed. Well. You would've gotten mad, but that's how it goes! haha and wow, the words my LJ speak to you. Are like whoa. Swollen belly with food, not child? WTFLOL? I cracked up. Read that at 7 in the morning right before class, and I was like, PFFT. And YES, it was InuYasha. D: INORITE GOSH. I JUST HAVE TO FINISH THEM. EVEN IF I ABHOR THE FANDOM ITSELF NOW. T__T Abrupt endings for the win? And NO WAY I did not get 3 reviews in ten minutes. It was like, 2, over the course of like, a day and a half. And as of ten minutes ago, the count went up by one. So there.
Your majors scare the crackers out of me. So intimidating. Chem = ew. Ew. I was just traumatized in high school with chem, SO...I'm an English major. Crazy, right? English and psychology, minoring in edumacation! Yes, I spelled that right! I might be a teacher? I don't know yet, but I was in a teaching academy in high school for two years, and there were internships over the summer as well as weekly trips to elementary schools that made me really like it. But again. IDUNNO. So for now, I'm sticking to it. Psychology though...bleh. I took an entomology class that was super fun and interesting though. I'm still dead scared of insects, but fun class. :D :D :D I need to take a second language, and I'm debating between Chinese (...), Japanese, and...frenchgermanitalian (because all three sound fun and random). lol How do you like your majors/minor? Incredibly difficult? D: Or do you like it? Planning to change? :D

And noodles in general. haha Like pho. Ever hear of/eat pho before? Yum. And chow mein. Generic Chinese takeout, but yum. Oh god, fatty fatty foods. hahaha (I finally did finish the ramen at about 8:30, by the way)

I kept writing 'porbably'. >< It's cause I have this ridiculous habit of sitting at the computer with my knees up next to my chin and my feet on the edge of the seat, then I slouch and the whole thing just gets confusing and sloppy and difficult to type. haha my majors aren't scary! Biology is like.. biology like. and Biochem isn't complicated, I skip the maths modules and just do the bits about like, metabolism and enzymes and stuff. It's not bad really. I'm a bit scared of straight up chemistry as well xD. I'm so jealous of you majoring in English. I'm like, how fail, I SAY I want to be a writer, but I'm doing SCIENCE at university. Next sem I'm hoping to take the creative writing course offered, but it's half storytelling, half screenplay and I'm not interested in the latter. But hey, maybe it'll be a learning experience. Education is cool, I'd like to teach at some point, but not forever, you know? Cause like, young teachers are awesome, all enthusiastic and stuff, but old teachers just seem less.. bubbly. Well. Some.
Entomology? Is that like.. seeing where words come from?!?! *looks up.* No.. it's about insects... How come you took that when you're majoring in english?! You're so lucky, in England, we are really restrained. I have one of the most flexible degrees you get, but most people just have one or two subjects and can't do much outside of that. A second language like, you're already learning one, or a second language like a second one except for the one you already speak? Chinese, like, mandarin and Japanese are both badical. I wanted to take Mandarin as well as jap this semester, but since I'm planning to do creative writing... Urk, latin based languages... They're such a joke if you speak decent English. Like, I learnt French and Spanish in secondary school, and it's JUST ENGLISH, but with an accent. Okay I exaggerate, but I don't have an overly positive opinion on those xD. But. They are fun. Haha, i do actually like my course, because it's so flexible really. And I get to choose so much. As I said, it's probably not that impressive for you, since you have tonnes of choice anyway, but for us in the UK, it's really good.

Asian Kung Fu Generation. They did the second Naruto opening. After Dark is pretty good. I'm listening to 12012 now, and they're really good! I liked Cyclone a LOT but Burn is good too! They're old?! Huh.
Yup, there's just one more. I did keep saying "1/5" "2/5" etc XD. and i'm writing a massive epic fic so yes, there will be more, but I'm not sure if it'll be posted IMMEDIATELY. I may take a week or two off first.

PHO. OMGOSH YOU'VE NEVER EATEN PHO. It's this Vietnamese noodle dish thing. It's awesome. I only know one or two people EVER that dislike it. No ways. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pho okay, so it's not the best description of the awesomeness of pho, but still. If you ever go to Vietnam...or a Vietnamese restaurant, they'll be sure to have it. :D YUM. Cheap too! Usually around $5 US dollars for a bowl. And they're large bowls. Maybe you should just come here. ;D
HAHAHA ENTOMOLOGY. You mean etymology. But still. HAHAHA. I loved that class. In our university system, you need to fulfill your general education requirements too, no matter what your major. So...seeing as how I'm an English major and all my classes are like, only fulfill the writing requirement, I needed some science and other things to fill it up so I can focus on my major. Entomology was just so fun, though. I grew up watching the Discovery channel and Animal Planet (lol yay channels on tv about animals/insects...). I was totally fascinated by them. And and and I ate bugs. It was awesome. Cooked, though. STILL AWESOME. :D :D :D But wow, that's not so cool that you don't get to have fun classes if they're outside of your major. :[ The thing about Chinese and Japanese though. Japanese...there's scary katakana and kanji. Chinese...KANJI/CHARACTERS GALORE! I know hiragana from being bored and reading a book from my sister once, but katakana scares me.
OKAY MY LANGUAGE HISTORY TIME. It's long. lol needs a whole new paragraph. I took Chinese (Mandarin) for 4 years in high school, though one year didn't really count and the teachers were really lax about everything. So I'm like, GAH OH NO IF I TAKE JAPANESE I'LL KEEP TRYING TO READ THE KANJI AS CHINESE. Because that's how it goes. hahaha BUT I had a little trouble with Mandarin in school because the pinyin/romanization of the words looked a lot like Vietnamese. Which I learned for 2-3 years in elementary school. AND I confused my Mandarin with Cantonese/this other Chinese dialect I speak at home. A lot. A lot a lot. HENCE MY DILEMMA. So I speak this weird strangely rare dialect of Chinese, can read/write Vietnamese though my level of understanding is that of a preschooler at best lol, can read/write/speak Mandarin/Cantonese at the level of a preschooler with understanding a LITTLE better than Mandarin, and OMGOSH GAH. So I was considering just starting over with no Asian languages. Things get mixed up in my head. For example, my aunt from Canada who only speaks French and Vietnamese (weird, right? Yea) asked me when school starts. I said "ba" which in Mandarin is 8, but in Vietnamese...it's 3. So I confused the heck out of her. And me. And. Noooo. Dear Abby (inserting generic advice columnist name lol), what should I do? D: Long, wasn't it?
hahaha English major is really weird. It's so analytical and a little boring, but apparently, I'm good at boring. O_o Creative writing sounds a lot more fun, but I'm taking a class now for that, and it's so scary. Well. Just because I'm more self conscious about my work, but still. It's like a workshop, and we focus on writing/reading short stories. And at the end of the quarter (we have quarters and not semesters here D:) we have to write an 8-18 page short story, make copies for everyone, and have them critique it. Nooo. While you just sit there and are not allowed to say anything. Scary. BUT YOU SHOULD TAKE IT AND HAVE FUN. hahaha XD So what are you going to use your science majors for? Going to be all smart and laugh at me? T__T CHEM IS SCARY. Bio...not so much. But still. SCARY PUT TOGETHER. haha

Waa, I love the idea of your uni system... But I mean, mine is okay, I'm not distraught or anything. I have it way better than most people. HUMM if you want my opinion, katakana isn't any harder to learn than hiragana is, but you just use it less often. Kanji is obviously a nightmare xD.
How come you learnt so many awesome languages in highschool? Here we just do the normal european ones :(. O.o I'm jealous of your crazy languagey ness. I get why you wouldn't be so interested in asian languages at this point. Why don't you do ARABIC? or RUSSIAN? Or SPANISH? Then again, I guess french and italian and german are pretty decent too. Gosh what AM I going to use my science majors for? I'm tempted to do medicine just because it'll be four years where I don't have to make up my mind xD. Or there is teaching, though I'd like to do the JET scheme too. Humm, there's all sorts. If not medicine, I'll probs go into research, or postgrad study. Not sure I'm ready to UNLEASH myself upon the world.

BUT YES. I just started this fiction class, and I was totally reminded of "Sometime Around Midnight" but without a hot teacher. Poo. Mine is too nice, and I think she doesn't want to offend us or something so everyone gets pretty good grades. D: haha and I learned Mandarin in high school! Everything else was from home. And I was forced to attend Vietnamese School when I was like, 10. So. Yea. hahaha Yay for multi-ethnic communities/families? :D TELLING ME TO DO WHATEVER I WANT DOESN'T HELP. Thanks. haha
