Apology accepted and one returned if I misunderstood your intentions in mentioning the word "asshat." I personally don't see the difference between "style" and "grammatically correct" since I think of the later as just a type of style (instead of a thing or a rightness/wrongness in itself).
As for the rest:
1)the only people who should be afraid of me are those who have given me reason to act in such a way that would cause a sensible person to be afraid. being called an "asshat" (even if it were more than implied) - not a reason
so I wasn't trying to scare you. and I'm kinda confused why that is even brought up.

3) I wouldn't say the feeling from peppermint oil is inherently painful. The sensation is sort of tingly icy-hot (at the same time). It is the intensity of said sensation that defines whether it feels painful or good or both at the same time to any particular person.
Know how when you eat something strongly minty or mentholy there is not just a taste, but also a sensation? Or how certain muscle rubs or breathing treatments tell you to keep away from certain areas? Well, menthol is a major natural component of mint. So if you take pepperment essential oil and apply a few drops undiluted to certain places....
