Roleplaying, good press and other things

Quite a bit to catch up on here.

simon_draskovic began his new D&D game for on this Monday. It was fun and I look forward to playing it again.
Five players: Myself, playing Xeno, an artificer (essentially a magical technician) with a mechanical hand and a scarred face.
Laura, playing Helios ("Hell" for short), a social monster and swordswoman.
forvrin , playing "Puppy", a barbaric warrior (ranger/rogue) who refuses to give out his real name for fear that it will give the strange sorcerers power over him.
laughingfreeman, playing a swashbuckler whose name entirely slips my mind . . .
st_rev, playing Wu, a laconic monk, of the Sholin (not Friar Tuck) variety.

Xeno, the Swashbuckler and Puppy have been travelling companions for sometime when the campaign begins. We are all members of the Sworn Sword, a guild of adventurers essentially, and as we are all new journeymen in rank, we have been sent to a new town to prove ourselves. The town is a dying, former boomtown, once rich on the coal trade during the last war, now withering away.

Not to recap the game in full, but the character met, much good roleplaying. Met with the local guildmaster, were assigned an "easy task" of cleaning out an infestation of rats. Went to the farmstead to do so, which once was a the home of a fairly wealthy gentleman farmer and his wife. Now his widow, who is senile, and a lone servant is all that is left. Xenos, the Swashbuckler and Hell, decide that it would make a great base of operations and start setting up a con, with the Swashbuckler to play the role of the widows long lost nephew . . . But before then, we have to deal with the rats in the barn, who are, in fact a meter long (before tail) and covered in armored scales! That we then do, with much flashiness and no casualties. And thus ended the first session.

Tyche's got a nice write up in an article in the UGA student paper, the Red and Black. Rah!

No word yet on the writing position. I hate waiting.
