That's a great piece of big, mythic fantasy and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I believe that all enchanted items (especially swords) should have rich and interesting backgrounds, regardless of whether the item is relatively insignificant or, as in this case, an artifact of legendary proportions.

Acquisition of this sword could provide the focus for a high-level campaign of some length.

Thank you. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to feel right. That Dragon Empress plays a very long game.

I agree that even little magic items should have their own story, it makes them so much more fun.
