...yeah, I'm going to try and type this all out now because I'm suicidal like that....
WARNING: VERY VERY looooooooooooong.....
As always, translation help is much needed and loved, especially since this chapter has almost as many tricky parts as chapter 6....
Guilt 7 : "Flower Burial"
The first page reveals that Sakura is an illegitimate child from a noble family....or to be more specific, he's the child of a noblewoman and someone who was not her husband (let's leave it at that....) Somehow my sympathy for him increased rather a lot over this chapter....
We start with a flashback to (at least) ten years ago....Sakura (well, he doesn't have a name at this point in the timeline....) has just killed the previous No. 4, and is sitting on some crates in an alley tossing money in the air and complaining (about the assassin, I guess?) To me this seems like he was targeted due to being a relation of a noble family or something, but maybe it was just chance. We'll never know.
He then holds up the rosary and spins it around a bit, wondering what the hell it's for, and someone replies that it's what remains of No.4, "Sakura".
...whee double page.
It's Ageha (who else has that hair...), and he says something about No.4 being killed and reborn with this (eh? I have no clue what it really says.)
Sakura notices something off about Ageha - he doesn't have a "smell". (I'm guessing this is like an aura...or Sakura is more of a dog than he thinks, har har) He's just like "What the hell are you talking about?"
Sakura goes on to explain that rich people "smell" of money, poor like dirt, murderers like him of blood, and the person he just killed like "rust"....but Ageha has no "smell" at all.
Skip forward a little to Sakura finally caving in and deciding to work for Thanatos....he's trying to brush this off as ...er...something.
Seems he's just checking the rules; no payment until the contract's fulfilled, don't kill excessively outside work etc etc...
Ageha then asks for the rosary back....and gets a rude hand gesture in return.....
More stuff I fail at translating but basically Sakura's just like "I have free will so I can do what I like with it"
Ageha's response is that in that case it's not a deal, and seems to be doing a bit of flirting while he's at it....or maybe that's my mind slipping back into the gutter again. Anyway, Sakura gets mad at him (rather cutely)and snaps that Ageha's not supposed to get attached to anyone (Ageha's response is "lots of people have said that" LMAO) (Sakura also calls him a "weird duck.....")
Sakura grumpily asks for a name, and Ageha introduces himself (or rather, he says that "Ageha" is what people call him) Ageha then asks for Sakura's name in return, and Sakura responds that "me" is "me" - "The woman who gave birth to me but called me "it" or "Satan's child" didn't think such a thing was necessary"
(....baawwwwww....stop being likeable dammit)
So Ageha decides to name him.....first there's some joke suggestion that Sakura rejects right away, and then he suggests calling him "Sakura" after the previous No.4. Sakura asks if Ageha will actually give him that name, and Ageha relies with a yes...(at least I think that's what it was....)
More Sakura monologue - it seems Ageha's the only person who's ever given him any sort of praise or laughed with him or anything like that.......
Cut rather abruptly to the present, where Aralag and Ageha notice that the wind's become stronger. Ageha seems to have a bad feeling, as Aralag notices he's gloomy....
Back to the fight - Toneriko and Sakura freeze in shock for a moment before Sakura falls and Edelweiss steps into view, firing at Toneriko.
Toneriko manages to dodge the bullets, but then thinks "Shit, there's too much smoke...."
Edelweiss appears out of nowhere with a curved knife and launches another attack, and Toneriko asks if this is another of Aralag's instructions, just as setting Sakura on him was.
Edelweiss gives the rather mechanical response that this is because it's the best use of him. (She also says something about string...?) She easily overpowers Toneriko and disarms him, digging the kinfe point into his face (and saying more stuff about string and this being like peeling skin off fruit...ugh)
Suddenly Sakura appears behind her, about to attack, and very obviously very angry about this...
Edelweiss turns in time for them to hit each other at the same time, and says there's a late message from Aralag - something about Sakura being "unbecoming" by hanging on Ageha or something....
Then Sakura falls, and Aralag grins evilly as Toneriko looks on in shock. Edelweiss isn't unscathed (if anything it looks like that one punch did quite a bit of damage....) She collects the No.4 rosary, then curtseys and apologises to Toneriko - she's out of time, so her "errand" couldn't be finished today, and she'll finish him off some other time. She departs, leaving Toneriko alone with Mizuto.
Left behind, Toneriko remembers No.4 and No.3's words, and makes a frustrated noise.
Return to Ageha's office-type-suite-thing, where Aralag notes that the wind stopped, and Edelweiss returns...
...looking in fairly bad shape considering she got hit once. Aralag asks if she finished her errand, and Edelweiss replies that she has, dropping the No.4 rosary on the ground.
Aralag is pleased that she's done that...but then he hits her across the face for coming back looking so beaten up (uh, didn't she just get punched there? Ow.) Aralag turns to Ageha as he leaves, saying that this is a message from (?) the rest of Number - with the current environment and government, he doesn't think Tekirai should hold the No.1 position any longer....
(...man, Tekirai would be pissed off if he lost that position with only one more ranking to go....)
Ageha's left alone (I think this is a different room), and says something to himself about Tamamushi (the Buprestid girl from chapters 1-2) being there already. He then turns to thank her as she brings a coffin in....
...except she's bawling her eyes out, poor thing. After she leaves, Ageha adresses Sakura's corpse (he says something about the seperation being complete, but that's probably a bad translation) and then there'a a pretty double page spread where it looks almost like Sakura's body turned into flower petals...?
There's a flashback to Sakura asking Ageha something, but my Japanese is still too poor and so I'm just sitting here kicking myself because I fail so much at translating that bit. (I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Sakura asking if Ageha would miss him if he died....at least that's what it seems like)
....and that's the end of the chapter....(for those curious, the last word is "zutto" i.e.all along, always, all the time etc)

Thoughts? Also as previously mentioned any corrections are welcomed~ Somehow I found the motivation to type this in one evening....
