D'espairsRay World Tour 2010 Human-clad Monsters SF live

Aug 05, 2010 14:48

The first real live I attended; IT WAS SERIOUSLY SO AMAZING. I JUST LOVE THEM LIKE A MILLION TIMES MORE NOW. I hope they're serious about coming back next year.
Anyway, here have my lame report. C:

I got there at around 1:30pm, the autograph session was supposed to start at 2pm. There was a line, but it wasn't super long or anything. I brought my MONSTERS CD and poster for them to sign. The staff were passing out raffle tickets for backstage time before the show to people who already got tickets to the live. Only 4 people were allowed to go, and each person could bring 1 friend. Sadly, I did not win. There were 2 times where it was so close! >_< But it's okay because I'm really shy and would probably act like an idiot in front of them.
Later my friend tsubamelily (who knows the Cure shop staff) came and told me they'll only sign the poster they're selling, and it's $20 D:
It was almost 2 and they still didn't show up. They showed up at 2:15, lol why the lateness? Traffic maybe? Zero and Hizu came out and I freaked out XDDD
A few minutes later, another staff girl said you need to buy a poster for them to sign if you want them to sign the stuff you brought. And then when it was my turn to have them sign, this staff member said only one thing. WTF? Why didn't they make these things clearer!? D:< Gahh, I was so disappointed because I brought the CD and poster for nothing. So I just bought that poster for them to sign.
They had no makeup on; Hizu was wearing glasses and a hat; Karyu wore his headband thing; I think Tsukasa was wearing glasses but to be honest, I don't really remember now ;;; Zero had a leather jacket or something on yeah see, Tsukasa, SOMEONE knows how to pack clothes.
After each one signed the poster, they smiled and said "Thank you" XDD lol none of them shook my hand EXCEPT FOR KARYU. He held out his hand and I shook it. I was sooo happy and couldn't stop smiling like a dork. XDDDDD Hizu's chin fuzz is really lovely up close.

EDIT: The stupid thing about this signing session was that the members were facing the wall; their backs were facing us. I understand they don't want the fans to snap photos, but it's still stupid. :/ tsubamelily told me they weren't really happy about the signing session because they didn't get to face their fans. OMG that just warmed my heart. They're so sweet, caring for their fans &hearts Gahh wish they'd let the band do what they want -.-

aaaand here is the signed poster

now I'm thinking how funny it would have been if they signed on another member by mistake XDD guess that's why they sat in that order: Zero, Tsukasa, Hizumi, Karyu.
No photos were allowed but they hired a photographer to take photos so hopefully those will be floating around the net sometime soon.

EDIT: here's a picture from their blog taken inside the Cure shop. Karyu wasn't wearing the hoodie at the signing session, Tsukasa was.

Tsukasa's pants |DDD

Lol I got lost getting to the venue so I ended being at the venue at around 6:30pm (I got on the bus at about 5:10ish and got off before it was 6). I was hoping to be there at around 6 DX. To my surprise, the line was not long at all, didn't even have to turn around the block.
Haha and I was stupid and forgot to get my ticket when when everyone else did so I got out of the line to go get it and went to back of the line. It didn't really matter because not that many people got in front of me anyways.
lol when I got back in line I looked at the window of their tour bus I saw Karubiiii!!! XDDDDD He is SOOO ADORABLE!!! >ω< I quickly whipped my camera out and snapped 10+ photos. I was surprised by how big Karubi is lol

There was also a few fans that came all the way from Japan o__o
When it was 7:30 the doors opened and we were let inside. I quickly went the merch table before things ran out. Ughh and fml again because I didn't bring enough money so I couldn't buy the black t-shirt and fan ;________; So I just bought the hoodie, the white t-shirt, and the Askew magazine. They also had the CDs released by Maru Music, a photoset, a button set, phone strap, and a poster (same one as above).

When my dad saw this magazine, he was like, "So dark! Why do you even like this?" lolol

The back of the hoodie; it's a zip-up one. The front is plain.

Notice the typo for the LA & SF date -___-;

The venue was not packed at all, I was one of the last ones to get inside and I could still get pretty close to the stage, but not close enough so I could touch them XD I stood on the side between Zero and Hizu so I could see Tsukasa :D But it was hard to see him sometimes because it was dark and there was no light on Tsukasa ;--;.
Tsukasa was the first one to come out. I was so excited; it wasn't a dream, I was at a D'espa live. Karyu was, very sparkly XD. He had his hair like on the OHP picture. Hizu was the only one who didn't have his hair styled. Zero wore the black vest but didn't wear the striped tank top inside. If I remember correctly, Tsukasa wore a half-length sleeve shirt. He was probably cold D:

Setlist:
1. DEATH POINT
2. Angeldust
3. REDEEMER
4. Human-clad monster
5. dope
6. ARK IN THE STORM
7. LOVE IS DEAD

13. 13 -Thirteen-
14. DEVIL'S PARADE

Everything except for the first and last songs are most likely out of order. I am 99.9% sure these are all the songs they played. If not for the 15 minute break they had in the middle, I'm sure they would have played more songs. I don't know if they planned the break or not.
I was surprised they didn't play FALLING and PROGRESS, but we got some awesome surprise songs so I'm not too disappointed.
Hizu's voice sounds so much better live than on the CD. Maybe he was saving his energy for the lives? xD

I'm not going to go into detail about each song because I don't even remember and it'd probably be boring anyways XD.
During Human-clad monster, there was some technical difficulties D: After a few seconds into the song, they paused. They started playing the song again, same thing happened. I didn't know what was going on and was scared something bad would happen. Then James(?) came out with a bag and said his computer has problems and, "I think we rocked it too hard." ahahaha XDDD
While they were fixing it, Hizu took the camcorder and filmed the audience XDD Karyu played some random notes on his guitar, Zero was spitting water at us, and yes it got on me. Hizu also watered us with the water bottle and threw the bottle into the audience.
I think it was during this time that Zero was spitting out picks. He was kinda looking at my direction and spit one out. Nobody caught it so it fell on the floor, and lucky me picked it up! 8DDDD I was kinda sad it wasn't the ones he designed :c oh well, better than nothing!

And that's the Iori and Kisaki button they gave out at the autograph session earlier. :D

After a while, they finally got the computer fixed and continued the show. I noticed Karyu was bending over a lot while playing lol. Also, his sparkly vest kept slipping off his shoulders lmao. There was also one time where he lifted his guitar up and about to throw it. I actually thought he was gonna do it.

During LOVE IS DEAD, Tsukasa did his drumstick twirling thing *___* TWICE

Before they played abyss, Hizu said, "This next song, I was inspired by the deep sea" or something like that. It's a really beautiful song; I love it even more now.

When they played Infection, I was like, "HOLY SHIT!!!! IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE ;~;" I was hoping they'd play it. This song is so touching and powerful &hearts

I was damn happy they played SIXty∞NINe too. I kinda didn't realize it until a few seconds they started it, same thing with Abel to Cain XD. The excitement was probably giving me brain farts. They started it the same way as in the Closer to Ideal @ C.C. Lemon Hall

Sometimes they got really close to the audience and everyone was all grabby hands. Karyu and Zero switched sides like, once. Tsukasa smiled/smirked once during the whole show, otherwise, he didn't make any faces, unlike Karyu lol. Zero was pretty much kinda smiling the whole time. I don't remember seeing Zero switch his bass; pretty sure he used Tricksy the whole time. EDIT: Karyu used his custom model Micawber and the Micawber Baritone.

Aww and I don't remember which song it was, Zero was like, fucking his bass (like here) and played it with his fingers instead of his pick.
Zero did his occasional spins; it was so cute when he did that. There was also one time where he pointed his bass at us like he was gonna shoot someone. lol
Zero does seem to enjoy having fans touch him. He was nodding and smiling at us. XD Shit, he is just one hell of an adorable 32 year-old.

There were some songs where we would sing along/the chorus/the English; it was so fun doing that :D Like in DEATH POINT, everyone was yelling "DEATH POINT DEATH POINT..." I was actually yelling "DESU POINT" XDD Hizu's Engrish got to me lmao.

I squealed when Hizu announced Garnet as the next song but sad at the same time since it was the last one. I tried to pay attention to Tsukasa, but it was dark and I could barely see him ;;; Hizu finally took off his shirt vest thing and everyone just screamed XDDDDDD
At the end, Tsukasa threw out 3 drumsticks; I didn't catch one though :(

We didn't get an encore, really wished we did though. I think it was because lots of people didn't really care. Many people weren't even yelling "encore!" I was one of the people who were yelling it, but we just weren't loud enough. D: Some people weren't that familiar with the band too, this one girl didn't even know the band members' names.

Since there was no encore, maybe that's why we got a meet and greet instead. If you didn't have anything for them to sign (specifically something from the merch table) the staff would kick you out of the line. I still had my MONSTERS CD with me so I hoped they could sign it (the booklet), but I wasn't sure so I took out the Askew magazine too. They did sign the booklet. Ahhh I was really happy X3 Also this time, they all shook everyone's hands :DD and said "thank you." This girl behind me got Karyu to sign her t-shirt before I got him to sign my booklet. He probably thought the shirt was mine and proceeded to shake my hand but I pointed to that girl cuz I thought she should get the handshake first but then he just shook mine first anyway. XDD lol and tsubamelily asked Hizu to fist pump her, and he did XDD
Ugh I should have gotten Zero to sign the pick but I don't know why I didn't DX

and here are their lovely autographs

There was a photographer there so I hope there'll be photos put on the net.

Overall, the audience was well-behaved except for these two girls pushing their way to the front. :/ In addition to that, I was hit by other people's arms and hair several times. My ears were still ringing after I got home, and boy were my calves tired. Damn, I stand for 4 hours at work and usually that's not as tiring as this live. XD My throat still hurts from all the screaming/yelling. Laughing is a problem for me.
Sometimes the music was really loud/too much fangirl screaming so I couldn't hear Hizu's voice too clearly.

The live made me love the album even more and now I can't stop listening to it. &hearts

outing, live, d'espa
