Taking the stairs

May 12, 2006 06:15

Ah, it is a beautiful day. The trip to Alexandria got down-graded to a trip to a local shopping mall because of the really nasty weather out here, so I didn't bother going. Severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings, if you've been watching the news. This morning is clear and the sun is just coming up.

I popped awake at about 5:00 and didn't do any of my planned movement yesterday, so I went to the NW staircase and went clear down to the basement, stopping at each floor to use my little wrist weights and stretch. Then back up to the sixth floor (roof access, locked) just hiking straight up. It was good, though much more tiring than I like. LOL I'll do it again this evening and every day from here on out.

I got the DVD player fixed by ITT, so that is part of why no planned movement yesterday. I watched 'Intolerable Cruelty' and 'Groundhog Day.' Both hilarious movies, though they got me missing my Greg soooo much.

I got to hike all over the complex here, B1 MRI being buried down in the depths of the old building, but mostly I just delayed too long. Visiting hours end at 9:00PM and everything locks down, and I didn't get done with my shower and pampering my skin until too late.

Breakfast now. Cold cereal and apple juice from the nurses' station, since my MRI is at 7:00, room service doesn't take orders until 6:30 and take about 45 minutes to get it to your room. *sigh* A good thing, I think. My diet is going to be really good here. A solid breakfast, chef salad for lunch and abolutely delicious filet of sole or salmon with steamed rice, brown gravy and two veggies for dinner.

I've been rotating through the entree menu, but I really like the fish. The meatloaf is bad, the spagetti sauce pretty good, but they're bad about it getting watery from the pasta and vegetable they put on the plate. Roast turkey and potatoes was really good, too. I add a little plateful of baby carrots and an apple for snacks.

Eep! 6:30. Must get a little something to tide me over. LOL Monte's blog shows my reply as 3:00AM. I have SO shifted my internal clock. Asleep 6:00 to 7:00PM and up at 2:00 to 3:00AM Pacific Daylight-Savings Time. Makes coordinating phone calls mildly difficult...
