I am not American. (Vaguely obvious I hope...)
In no way at all could I vote in the US elections.
I have been told to mind my own business more times than I can count.
I was told today that it didn't matter because America isn't our country.
BUT! This does not mean that I am not a very peeved little munchkin as of this afternoon!
So yeah, the king of the Ewok-evil-camp-tree-house-deely is back in business. Not too surprised, but still. And, as I am older than 13 this time around, I actually understood the whole sha-bang, and was reading up on the election deal they have going on in the US.
Have decided that the Electoral College is the most ridiculous idea on the planet. Just silly, defeats the whole object of an actual democracy. But I don't know too much to get into that, so I shall leave it.
I read the results at lunchtime today, and then went off to Drama. Normally, I would have kept my anger to myself, but a few people asked me if I knew the results or not, so I told them, and then my thoughts and feelings (all share!) on it all. I was then promptly laughed at by some stupid rotund girl in flip-flops (IT'S NOVEMBER!!!!!!) that she didn't care, because "y'know, it ain't even our country is it? Not like it's gonna do owt to us!" *more giggles from the fool*. And I tried to defend myself and she told me to shut up! Brianwashed muppet...
Anyway, how rude I thought.
People seem to not be caring about it quite as much this time around, which I can understand because they have tried so hard to get it all going and let everyone know what is happening to their morals, but it just didn't work. Being as this is relatively new to me, I'm not giving up.
I refuse to wash my hands of America because they refuse to leave us alone. And I don't like being stereotyped as a toff, I have a Yorkshire accent, I would like it noticed thank you very much!
So yeah, all done... FOR NOW!!! Will think of more later, I'm sure.
