Oh my wow...
Ok, so me and Sophie actually managed to get ourselves all the way to Manchester to see Slipknot without passing out, and it kicked so much ass that you just wouldn't believe!!!!
We got there at MEN pretty early, so we pulled up a pew on the shiny concrete floor, and got bored pretty quick too. Although, Sophie, the thoughtful munchkin that she be, brought along her Tipp-Ex pen so we could have some entertainment and decorate our overalls some more.
I was very impressed with our conquering of the Manchester Public Transport! We owned the tram's ass!
When we got in, my butterflies were seriously kicking in, and was feeling a bit on the poopy-sick side, but it passed when I got my BRIGHT PINK wristband to get onto the standing floor!!!! Eeeeeep!
So, in we got, and rushed our little legs to the front, and squatted down on the floor. I'm unsure why, but everyone else seemed to, so I suppose that's good enough for me!
MASTODON came on!! They were really good, but they only played four or five songs, so it was a bit of a let down, although they did kick ass. And, all their songs lead straight from one to another, and that was impressive enough in itself!
HATEBREEED... well, that was scary! The entire floor turned into one giant hardcore pit! ARGH!!! Scary as hell!!! Bloody hell... but their set was awesome! So I suppose it's ok.
SLAYER, oh holy crap, what can I say about Slayer? Apart from that their set was quite cool, the backdrop and lighting was awesome, and I had a panic attack! We were getting so squashed that Sophie freaked out (and rightly so!) and then on my way out, I got so worked up that I couldn't breathe that I had a panic attack and fell on this guy! Although he was really nice about it, and moved everyone so we could get out! Bless! After that we moved to the back, and enjoyed it from there, because people were being nice about it back there. The paramedic-type-guy was really friendly as well. Which is nice.
Then after Slayer, everyone seemed to disperse, so we ambled our way to the front again, but a little further back so we didn't get crushed again. And then...
SLIPKNOT!!!!
They owned, SO MUCH!!!! I have never had more fun in my entire life!!! Just thinking about it now makes my heart beat like a flippin' drum!!! A Joey Jordison-pummelled drum!!!
Oh my God, they even played my favourite song!! EYELESS!!!! AAAAAAAAARGH!!!! Oh wow, it was just... awesome!!! *Maniacal laughter!!* They were absolutely amazing, even though Craig was missing. Jim looked so incredibly sexy in real life as well!! It has just further confirmed my absolute love and sexual attraction to him! That boy will be humped by me one day!!!
Oh wow... they even did some of the really obscure songs, like Iowa. It was absolutely amazing as well. It was so creepy and wierd, and everybody knew the words as well!
And they did JUMP THE FUCK UP!!! And what did I do? I JUMPED THE FUCK UP!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRHGHGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-WAH-BOOF!!
It was just amazing, and I'm still buzzing from it all, almost a week later. Just bloody great...
And I'm so amazingly going to see them again!!!!
