I've been dabbling in yoga since I was pregnant with my daughter (who's about to be 5). I've always attributed it to my ability to touch my toes when I was 9 months along even though I couldn't see them.
One of the ladies on the Weight Watchers boards posted about the Yoga Today website. They have free online hour long yoga lessons. I tried out my first lesson last night and honestly it was the best at-home yoga I have ever done. I own several videos and DVDs to work along side of and this FREE site beats them all hands down.
"But wait," you say. "that's nice for you, but I'm overweight, out of shape and and the complete opposite of flexible."
Did you notice I said Weight Watchers board? Sure I've lost 30 pounds in the past 9 months, but I've got 70 more to go and it's not going fast. So I'M overweight, out of shape and inflexible too. Well, I'm in better shape now than I was last August, but you get my drift. The site definately kicked my butt, but I enjoyed the challenge. Now me enjoying a physical challenge is something that I never thought would come about.
This will probably be one of the very few recommendations you see me give on this site. Check out yogatoday.com or just try a novice yoga class at your gym. you'll be surprised.
Oh, and one thing I learned, I can't exercise after 8:00 at night or I'll be up the rest of the night. I finally fell asleep last night at 3:00. Ugh.
