Vala was bored. She had her nice pain meds that kept her from hurting too much, but Cam had only agreed to go to classes on condition she promise not to get up. After class ended, Izzie decided to stop by and check on Vala. She'd decided to drag along the lounge chair she'd made Vala in shop class. Struggling down the hall, Izzie set the chair down in front of Vala's door, and knocked.

Izzie poked her head around the door. "Hi, Vala," she said. "I just wanted to see how you were doing."

Opening the door a little further Izzie drags the lounge chair into the room. "Plus I wanted to bring you the lounge chair I made you in Shop. It reclines and everything. It's a little strange for winter but um...with the cushion and everything I figured you might be able to use it eventually." Izzie paused, then added, "And I swear it is structurally sound. I mean, you or anyone else can sit on it and it won't break."

Vala smiled. "Aw, that's sweet! You made that for me?"

Blushing slightly Izzie nodded. "Our assignment was to make something that would help another student, and it was the day after the...you know, and I just wanted to do something for you. So...this is what was born."

Catching herself stumbling through the explanation, Izzie stopped and took a deep breath. "Are you feeling better?" she asked, concern lighting her eyes.

"Well I think this is going to help, so thank you," she smiled. "And yeah, I'm actually feeling pretty good now... you know, considering.

"How are you doing? You didn't get hurt or anything, right? But you're the one she grabbed; that's still got to be pretty scary."

"I don't think I've actually allowed myself to process any of it yet," Izzie confessed. "It was terrifying, but for some reason I can't quite seem to acknowledge the fact that it really actually happened to me." She paused. "I'm really glad you are feeling better though."

Vala stopped as the lights suddenly went out... then flickered slowly to life again.

"O.K., that was different...."

Glad that the lights came back on, Izzie felt herself shaking a bit.

"Um...yeah, that was different," Izzie replied. "I...um...I'm not very fond of the dark."
