I am now deeply worried about what my reaction to Watchmen will be. James Berardinelli gave it a Rotten rating (this is what primarily makes me a sad and deeply worried panda). Victoria Alexander gave it a Fresh rating, as did Peter Travers. *boggles* On the other hand, Armond White (who hates everything I've ever watched and loved, I swear) gave it a Rotten, and Roger Ebert gave it a Fresh. I guess I'll find out how good/bad Watchmen is for myself--less than 48 hours to go now. I picked up my ticket today so I will be watching the Watchmen (hee!) at 3:20pm on the 6th on the biggest-ass screen the theatre has to offer.
On a slight change of topic, but still to do with film. I seem to be fighting an urge to do a horror movie classics film-athon. It's been creeping up on me over the last couple of days and today I actually made a list of the movies I want to re-watch (and a couple I've not yet seen, which is a little embarrassing and erodes my horror movie fan cred). Not surprisingly, a fair number of them are from the '70s. Hmm... Hallowe'en is months away so I have no idea what has brought this on.
(ARGH MY EYES!!! I JUST WENT TO IMDb TO CONFIRM A MOVIE DATE AND A QUICK GLANCE AT THE WENN NEWS HAD ME SMUSH TOGETHER TWO STORIES. THE RESULTS WERE TERRIFYING: SNYDER RULES OUT WATCHMEN HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL SEQUEL. D: I SHOULD HOPE SO!!! EVEN AS A MISREAD, IT'S NOT ANY LESS SCARRING.)
