Of being a complete bookworm. ^_^
I've been devouring books at around what I used to in high school. How many books did I use to read? Well, I was voted "Most Likely to be Buried with a Book in Her Coffin" by my choir; not the English class, or the Mythology class, or the drama class, but choir. This may explain why I was never on the honor roll, but the teachers liked me anyway.
Since about mid-December I've read/re-read:
Howl's Moving Castle--Adorable, creative twist on the old fairytale stereotypes.
Castle in the Air--"Sequel" to the above, but more like a companion novel. More snarky fairytale twisting and new unlikely heroes.
Goose Girl by Shannon Hale--A interesting flushing out of the old Grimm story. A bit more adult than Fairest by Gail Carson Levine, since the heroine actually witnesses and then angsts over the deaths of her loyal bodyguards.
Please Save My Earth--A 21 volume manga series that ROCKS MY WORLD. How I love it and all it's angsty-angst-angst and humor and plot twists. *GUH* People, you don't know! It's just...*GUH!* The artwork isn't drop-dead gorgeous or anything, but the plot line is a steady, continous heart-string puller. Much, much love.
Death Note--I don't have 11 and 12, so I still haven't finished the series, but re-reading the first 10 was delicious and wicked and twisted and sociopathic. Mmmmmm. I need to get out and get those last two! *Sticky notes*
Ouran High School Host Club--I read the first manga...sooooo cute. I don't like the manga versions of the twins as much, but it's still disturbingly cute.
Full Metal Alchemist--Up to 9 so far. It's just starting to really diverge from the anime and I'm liking it. I think I'll be more fond of the anime overall, but the manga definitely has it's moments. Ed and Al are adorable...I put it down just now to write this because they're about to go back to Central and they don't know about Hughes yet. ;_; *Sniffles*
...so that would be about (3+21+10+1+9) 44 books in a month. Not bad. Of course, that's not counting the fanfiction, either...>_<;;
Then there's the ones I just picked up at
Nemkess's store: 3 more Ouran mangas, 4 Petshop of Horror mangas, 1-4 of Here is Greenwood mangas, and the novels: Wicked, Tuck Everlasting, Enna Enchanted, Princess Academy, The Westing Game, and replaced two of my favorite Dean Koontz books that I had lost, Watchers and Lightning.
The bad thing is that I haven't done half of my university readings. >_<; Crap.
