I went to Rochester, New York for Spring Break. The drive there was so long. Sandy made me drive the whole way, while she "navigated." I also had to follow my brother the entire way, and I hate following people...especially for 600 miles. There was snow, hail and 50 mile winds. It was cold to say the least. For the most part we just shopped and ate good food and hung out. We also went to Niagara Falls for about 5 minutes. That was pretty, and cold, so we went to Canada, where the legal drinking age is 18. Hooray! So me and my brother Ryan's other half-sister Jessica (the daughter of my mom's first husband) who is also 20 had martinis and such. We would like to thank Michelle, the bartender at the first place we went who made us crazy beverages and served us nachos, and give a big shout out to the hot curly-haired male bartender at the second bar whose name I just didn't catch and who drank "Ninja turtles" with us. We also went to the wax museum and the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. A good time was had by all. Except when we went through this crazy turning tunnel and Sandy fell on some small children. Oh, I also took Sandy into a head shop, where she bought me two lovely bowls just for shits and giggles, as well as a big cuban cigar. Take that U.S. customs!
Here are some pictures:
Niagara Falls. We looked for about 5 minutes...but it was so cold! Just look at that snow/ice tunnel that formed from the mist!

Herrrrrrrrrrro! Me and Kim Jong Il at the Canadian Wax Museum
Me, Jessica and Ryan enjoying a Washington Apple (crown royal and apple pucker)
I saw this shop, and being slightly sauced, I found it amusing and decided to take a picture of it for Sammy.
This has nothing to do with Spring Break, but I just think this picture of Grace with Dave-O is so cute. Also, her favorite word is "Papaw" and it is adorable.
On the way back from Rochester, we stopped in Jamestown, NY, which is the birthplace of Lucille Ball. I made Sandy go to the museum and the playhouse (where you can see sets and stuff) and we bought a shit ton of souvenirs. It was kind of a bummer though because you weren't allowed to take pictures of the sets or in the museum. We ate some lunch at a place called Friendly's that gives you a free sundae with every meal! What a fabulous place! Then we headed home, but not before we got lost in the cemetary looking for Lucy's family plot. Oh good times with Sandy.
Here is the plot, where they say some of Lucy's ashes were scattered/planted... I find the quote at the bottom of the tombstone slightly creepy, but I suppose it's fitting.
Now back to the grind. I feel like I have so much work to do and not nearly enough time to do it. I have 3 HUGE assignments looming over my head, not to mention my constant work at the paper, plus I have to schedule for next fall very soon, plus finish my application for that summer internship. Some good news that came my way: I got one of the 12 scholarships I applied for from the journalism school. I find out how much the scholarship is for at a banquet in April. I can't stand the suspense.
Well, only like 7 weeks left of class...that's gotta count for something.
