I've been doing a bit of thinking about something wickwish once said about some of the more recent horror flicks involving Southerners, like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, House of 1,000 Corpses, that Cathy Bates movie, and so on. In a Hollywood movie, there ain't no such thing as a smart redneck. I have a feeling the left of Hollywood will be pumping out quite a few more of these, maybe even a Dukes of Hazard movie. I expect to see a bit more Jethro, a couple more rednecks, a few hundred gallons of moonshine, a trailer park or five, walking nurseries, some lampooning of conservative Christians, cops with big drawls, huge belt buckles, and glasses that make 'em look like giant flies, pigfucking, and a lot more gay people because those West coast motherfuckers can be pretty petty and vindictive.
