About monies, finances, budget, being responsible

So... somehow this month I ended up with a positive balance on my checkbook. I think it had to do with a number of things happening:

1> Electricity bill being zero this month for doing the BBP program. Hopefully it will not come to bite us in the arse next month.

2> Being paid some debt owed to me.

3> Mom paying for some of personal, luxurious expenses of mine (i.e. haircut)

It was truly a blessing or luck that things turned out this way because I seriously thought I would end up in the negatives. Mainly due tot he fact of having the hardest time saying "no" to my dad when he asks for money. He calls it borrowing but, honestly, I do not expect it back. Also lent some money to my cousin. It was not a large sum, but considering the amount of money I have for the month does not even have three zeros, well, every little bit adds up. With most of my family I usually treats loans as money that I probably will not get back. It is money that is gone and not taken into any future account.

Aunt Vicky said they were sucking me dry of the money I saved to spend over break.

Anyways, there is a plan in the works and hopefully it will work out.

After I pay all of the following:

  • Rent
  • Electricity
  • Cell Phone
  • Food / Gas / Laundry
  • Visa
  • Cell Phone
  • Internet
  • Bus Pass
  • Bus Ticket

And I should still have forty whole dollars to spend for the month on whatever I want like Chipotle.
