(no subject)
So I find myself now headed home to the states. I'm on a plane and there is some movie playing on the screen overhead. I've got my laptop resting on the pull down tray in front of me, and my eyes are beginning to droop, but I wanted to post while everything of the last few days was fresh in my mind. The last few days here in Cannes have been full of activity and fun and laughter and friends. All of this and more while De-lovely got its first showing to the world.
First, though let's start with the night before. I attended an AIDS Gala in Cannes that was held by Liza Minnelli. It was a star studded affair with most of the celebrities at Cannes in attendance. I had the most fun time. However, the event wasn't about fun, but for the importance of a good cause. A cause that demands everyone's attention. It's been twenty-five years since this disease has made an appearance in our lives, and it isn't going to go away without a cure being found.Everyday more and more people are diagnosed with this terrible disease. Everyday more and more people die from this disease. We must not forget.
The next day was the De-lovely's turn in the spotlight. There was a photocall, a pressconference and a screening with mosr of those in the movie in attendance. Sheryl and Alanis were both in attendance. I actually found video somewhere online, but they dubbed over in French, so you can't even hear any of us speak. The day was long but oh so very exciting. With each that passes, the movie gets closer and closer to release. I cannot wait.
Today was my last day in Cannes, and I ventured out to lunch with Penelope. We met at at lovely Hotel in Nice. It was so nice to sit down and talk with someone. With my foot being in the condition it had been for so long, I hadn't been getting out much for girl talk. The afternoon was lovely, but it was cut short by my needing to catch this plane. In a few hours I will return to my home and collapsed exhausted into my bed.
