wrap up the year.. and my love for ryan adams

soo..i have been home a bit less than a week.

I was alright with seeing my second to last semester of college come to an end. Saying goodbye to graduates has only begun.. but jeff was probably the hardest one.. so I think I will be prepared for this summer's goodbyes.

Finals.. went well, really well actually. I did quite well on all of them, but my lack of class attending * due to stupidity*, missing a week to go to LA, missing a week to go to Reno, and union board directing, has only cost me a .006 cumulative GPA decline. I ended up with A+(stats),A(russian culture),A-(psych of learning),A-(psych of personality) and a lovely B+ in evolution. Ah well.. I'm a tad dissapointed, but truthfully thankful that it wasn't a lot worse, which it could have been. There is really no excuse for getting the A-'s in my psych classes, but alas.. that happens when you never go to class.

This year: It was a great one. I loved living at 1st and Henderson. It was a blast living in a crappy college house, and being free to do whatever the heck I wanted. Plus.. our corner was pretty awesome. I really loved our neighbors to the right, they were always wonderful and sweet, and ready to give us alcohol. Of course i also developed a big affinity for our caddy corner neighbors.. the 529 boys. THere were some great times with them. I will miss seeing matt or colin jump off their yard and run over to our porch to say hi. I really genuinely liked all 5 of the guys, and they were great neighbors, and I am glad I got to know them.

I think the most pivotal part of this year was becoming union board concerts director. Start of my sophomore year I had only a faint idea what Union Board was, and thanks to advice from Harmony and Ashley I checked it out. And now, I am nearly half way done with my term on the 2005 board. From getting elected, to going to retreat, to the many board meetings, to widespread and booking my first concert *the roooots*, it has been a great experience. THinking about the 5 hour long board meetings, where i wanted to rip my hair as well as everyone else's hair out, i really feel like I have learned so much from this experience. I am truthfully looking forward to our fall retreat, going together as a unit, as 16 people who have shared a large portion of their time together. I am excited to book shows this summer and we shall see how that goes.

I guess to sum up the year:

moved in to 600 E. 1st, made out with quite a few boys, became a concerts director on the 2005 board, mexico-LA-Reno, and fell in so much love with Ryan Adams.

this summer: right now i am relaxing and looking for a decent job. Have to start applying to medical school asap, andddd just relaxing. GOing to Philly for the 4th of July weekend, and to Vegas for my 21st bday!

That brings me to the last thing. Seeing Ryan Adams last night in Louisville. First of all, i think downtown louisville is very pretty and has a great vibe to it. Second of all.. yesterday was just crazy and spontaneous.. and thanks to an awesome ryan fan named dustin.. i got to sit in the 2nd row of the pit .. smack dab in the center. SIMPLY amazing. Ryan Adams has stolen my heart for good. He was sick and even then he played 21 songs 2.5 hours * even though he wanted to play longer.. damn union labor*, and he rocked out like crazy. I got to hear some of my most favorite songs from each of his now.. 6 albums.. as well as several songs from album number 7. He's a musical genious and deserves all of the love and respect that he gets.

Tomorrow I am going to the pacers-pistons game with the dad and the seats are amazing, can't wait... go pacers!!

"you gotta play that music for who's listening, you gotta have someone you wanna sing it to."-Ryan Adams
