DISCRIMINATION: Getting Nekkid

Apr 14, 2010 23:41

The last junk mail from the Traditional Values Coalition was pretty funny, but this new one takes the cake. (Edited for your sanity...and hilarity.)

Translation: ENDA will force businesses - including Christian businesses - and schools to accommodate cross-dressers, drag queens and transsexuals in hiring, promotion, and restroom and shower use.

Democrats Barney Frank and Steny Hoyer are aggressively pushing ENDA through the House of Representatives. [Hurray!] Hoyer, speaking on behalf of Nancy Pelosi, just announced that ENDA is non-controversial and supported by the American people! [Truefax.] Meanwhile, Frank claims to have worked out improvements with “the transgender community.” In his own words:
Essentially, there are full protections for people who are transgender with a couple of provisos: One - the employer can ask for a gender consistent dress code. No mustaches and dresses. [No mustaches?! Well, that's a blow...er...well, you know what I mean!] Two - people with one set of genitals do not have a legal right to get naked in front of the other set, is the basic way to put it. Some accommodation has to be made there. If you insist on the right for unrestricted access to bathrooms - we lose. And we’re making some accommodations here. And we worked it out with the transgender community.

Does Frank actually think all this improves ENDA? He’s admitting that this kind of nonsense will become standard in the workplace if ENDA passes without his changes. Frank is openly admitting that under ENDA, a man who dresses in women’s clothing could legally get naked in front little girls in restrooms and shower facilities. [Emphasis theirs.]

All right, who here missed the not in Hoyer's quote?

Geez louise.
