We had a super weekend! Isn't Mother's Day the greatest???
Friday night was lazy. We were supposed to see our friends, but by the time they got into town, Dani was already in bed (7:00), so they didn't come over. Doug fed Dani at around 1:00, so I got to stay in bed all night. Heaven!
Saturday was a busy day. Dani slept until 7:00!! Awesome! We deep cleaned the house andran a bunch of errands for the party on Sunday. Dani was so good all day. Her afternoon nap was a little screwed up because she fell asleep in her car seat. She woke when I took her out, so it was only like 30 minutes. One of my friends got her masters degree on Sat. and had a party, so Dani and I went for about an hour while Dh stayed home and prepared for the party. She was good. We got home around 6:30 and DH sent me shopping for a new outfit for the baptism. So sweet. I met my mom at the mall and we shopped for about 2 hours. When I got home, Dani was sweetly sleeping.
Sunday-My first Mother's Day! My plan was to stay in bed all night again. Dh said he would feed Dani when she woke. The bad news is that he fell asleep on the couch, so I had to get up and wake him up to feed the baby. He is such a deep sleeper, that I had a hard time getting him up. He finally did and I went back to bed. Dani woke at 5:00 ready to play. Way too early! I was wired anyway because of the day ahead of us, so I didn't mind. DH went out to but some donuts. I had 3!! Blew my diet right to hell! But who cares, it was Mother's Day right? DH got me a neat collage of Dani pictures for my desk at work and 4 awesome down pillows. I love them!
We met everybody at church at 9:30 for the baptism. It was wonderful to be surrounded by family. The baptism was fine. Dani was an angel. Our paster took her in his arms and showed her around to the rest of the church. She is stared intently at all the people. Everyone laughed. I think I have a little actress on my hands. She loves to be in front of a crowd. Right after the baptism, she fell asleep in my arms. I couldn't believe it! She never does that anymore. She slept through most of the service.
We then all went back to our house. We drank and were merry!! My mother-in-law told me that her first mother's day, she drank a whole bottle of wine! :) She gave me permission to do the same. It was so fun to have everyone over! We were crowded, but had a great time anyway. Dani loved it! I have never her seen her so smilely and happy! It was cute!
We had leftovers for dinner. I had a beer. I can't remember the last time I drank a beer. I usually have wine. The beer tasted so good.
It was a great day. I LOVE mother's day!
So, I am having some SIL problems. I don't really want to go into it now, but I HATE that I have to be so self consious about everything I do or say in front of a family member. Shouldn't family love you regardless? It stresses me out!
New developments: Dani has finally found her thumb! She has been sucking on her whole hand, but just this weekend, she started sucking her thumb. It is way cute!
She also has been really reaching for people. I mean she has been grabbing at toys for a long time now, but now it is more at people and faces. She is a silly girl.
I think I am going to try a veggie tonight. What do you think...sweet potato or squash?
