...that is my favorite song today.
i did 7 hours of walking this afternoon. if you think shopping as part of work is fun - HAAA! nuh-uh.
well, it really depends. sometimes it's fun, but at other times, it's downright a chore.
i left work at around 11:30 this morning. had a leisurely lunch - shrimp garden salad. walked up to Lord & Taylor, walked around for an hour or so, jotting things down on Post-It notes. got some trims. then subwayed it uptown. got off on 5th avenue and 60th st. it's so nice out today! i couldn't help but snap some pictures with my digital camera. finalfuckingly! but i don't think the pictures are all that great. i guess i'm just looking for any excuse to to use the damn thing already. snapped a couple of pics of these elephant sculptures by the front of Central Park. it was a mommy/daddy/adult relative/total stranger elephant with a wee baby elephant next to it. um, i haven't looked at the manual on how to upload pictures into my computer yet. i'm sure there aren't many steps involved but, god i'm such a lazy bum! how long have i gotten this camera already? like 3 weeks?? soon, i promise.
then i hit Bergdorf and Bendel for a few hours. did a lot of walking around and checking things out. didn't really see much newness. goddamn, tunics are everyfuckingwhere. beaded and embellishment up the wazoo. can't stand it. several years ago, i used to see a lot of things that i'd personally want whenever we did these shopping trips. but not today. i think i've lost interest in fashion altogether. the only things i recall wanting for myself were this Vince beaded skirt and a Jill Stuart smoke-blue dress with metal studs on it. the dress is done really simply and elegantly. it's the perfect combination of classy and edgy. but i'm not the type to spend a few hundred bucks on one dress.
afterwards, went to a few shops in soho. finally, went into bloomingdales. there was some event in the men's store hosted by Paper magazine and kal for some designer. popped in, took an hors d'oeuvre (which was really good because i was really hungry), popped out. ame and sal were gonna come by but they ended up not able to. they didn't miss anything. i finally left for home around 7pm. so that's like 7 hours of walking today! i'm so tired.

i read in the newspaper today that some guy sold on eBay a piece of toast bearing a drawing of the runaway bride...for $15,400. who the FUCK bought that?? also, WHY??? also, does that person want a collection? cuz i'll gladly do a whole loaf of Wonderbread of the entire wedding party and in-laws, and i'll only charge $10,000. what a deal!
