So much to tell

I'm not exactly sore; more like my throat feels really funny and it's very uncomfortable and annoying (it feels like how your throat feels a few days before turning into a sore throat). I didn't feel like calling a bunch of people and talking on the phones (I didn't think it would help my throat feel any better; probably make it feel worse) so I went down to work and rescheduled. Beth was nice enough to let me do that. You're supposed to call out like an hour or two beforehand. I was hoping to get down there and have all the computers taken and when they weren't I opted to use one of my absences. I believe it's my first of, I believe, 3 absences so it's cool.

Kevin, Kyle, Talia and I started a poker game last night and I wanted to finish that tonight, too, so that was another reason for calling out. I missed drum line all of last week because the homecoming parade was coming up and I wasn't playing in it. Tim wanted only those playing in it to come to rehearsal. Turns out the parade didn't happen because of the Red Sox parade (which is a blessing in disguise, actually, because the homecoming parade almost always promises to suck). I have to now miss drum line rehearsals this week because I had to make up for missing work. Hopefully there will be an event that I can play at so I can not be gone for two weeks from drum line.

At the end of last night's game I was winning by about 40 cents. Tonight was a great game. We played for a good 5 hours or so. Kev was first out. He went all in on a hand and I beat him with a pair of deuces! hahahaha Talia was next out because she went all in on a hand and lost. Kyle and I went heads up for quite a while. At one point, he nearly took me out. He was at $15 to my mere $5. I went all in on a hand in which Kyle said he could only lose if I had the high straight.....and I had the high straight! He called me and I was back in the game! I had been losing for quite a while...it seemed like every hand...but I eventually ended up winning the game. It was a great game. $15...excellent!

I can't forget to talk about this weekend. It was awesome! I went to Syracuse for Halloween and to see Carline and her friends. I hung out with the drum line a bit and watched the Syracuse v. UCONN football game. Cuse's ticket office got on my shit list because they gave my seat to the UCONN band. After arguing with them a bit, I got an even better seat. It all worked out and Syracuse won the game. I forget the score. Both bands were great too. :)

We went to a Halloween party that night. Carline and I dressed up as a cop and robber. I have some great pictures from the night. We pre-gamed at Vof's and then headed to Mackie's for the party. It was a great time. It was great to see Carline too....and all her friends. Awesome weekend. :)

From Syracuse, I went to NYC to conduct an interview with Pat Monaco for my middler year writing paper. It was so great to see them all. I really do miss them all so much...if I could work with them and still have what I have here at the same time, I would in a heart beat.

I had an interview today with CBS in Boston. I think it went well. Andrea, the lady that interviewed me and is the head of the intern program, seemed interested in me and wanting to work with me. She said I would be good in the creative services department, which works well for me. I hope it works out. I have an interview on Thursday with UMVD in Boston. Hopefully I can do both jobs...three days a week with one and two days a week with the other. I want to keep contacts with Universal because I think it would be awesome to work for them again in NYC when I graduate. Hopefully all goes well.

It would be nice if co-op could be set up so quickly. I really would like to have a job(s) set up and then not have to worry about it the whole rest of the semester. I'm struggling this semester, and even worse, I feel like I'm slacking like crazy. This week is meant for work to get done. Busy as it is, I need to start tomorrow and take homework and classes more seriously now. I hate slipping off the ball or feeling like I am. Time to seriously buckle down.

Tomorrow is going to be my work day. I should probably go get some sleep. I'll probably watch a bit of the election first. I hope my absentee ballot got to CT in time. I had slacked on sending that out too and put it in the mail very last minute (Monday night right as I walked in the door from getting back from NY). Go, Bush!
