So have I mentioned lately just how much LL Bean rocks?? About 7 or 8 years ago my mom got me a mountain guide parka from LL Bean for the cold windy Rochester winters. Gortex shell, all sorts of zippers, vents and pockets, but the most important thing is that it is 100% completely waterproof and windproof. Fast forward 7 or 8 years to today. For whatever reason, the welded seams are coming apart and the waterproofing tape is coming off which makes it very much not water / wind proof.
Soooo, on a whim I called LL Bean knowing that their current guarantee is for the "useful life of the product", not for forever like their old guarantee used to be. I spoke to a single customer service rep who picked up on the first ring on a line that didn't go through a menu and found out that they'll still replace it!! So today I'm stopping at the post office on my way home from work to send out my old jacket and get a
brand new one. The best part is that they've redesigned it but I can still use my old
fleece liner, and they also switched to Gortex XCR rather than the regular Gortex of my old jacket. Go LL Bean!
