It seems impossible that anybody on my Friends list has not heard of
Cute Overload, which is also available at
cuteoverload for your friends-page needs. For any who haven't, the concept is fairly straightforward and self-evident, and ordinarily they post things that range from mildly cute to flesh-meltingly adorable. I recommend a daily dose, because many dreary days at work have been brightened by the sight of puppies at play or a baby hippopotamus or what-not.
However, one of the links they posted yesterday I am sort of ambivalent about:
I have three cats at home, and am familiar with the habits of both the big and the small varieties. So let me just say that when you get into this situation with a kitty, the results are not always cute. About half the time, a hug is just a hug, and you may even score some whisker-tickles or lick-kisses to boot. And that's nice.
But the other half of the time instinct will take over, and they will get that mad glint in their eyes which means they are about to let loose with a full-strength "bunny kick" -- bringing both rear paws up to rake whatever it is they're grasping with the front feet -- which in the case of Mr. Lion-Pants here would indicate a quick trip to the emergency room to have yourself re-emboweled.
So kids, and even
professional entertainers, don't try this at home. With the big kitties, anyway.

P.S. Bonus points for whoever identifies the reference in the subject line. :)
