Ajasontville is growing slowly but steadily. However, now I've got 4% unemployment, and need to build industry there. If you would be so kind as to click
here and help this tiny hamlet become more a village by building up its business, I'd be grateful. Also, don't hesitate to say hello in the News Bulletin.
I note with just a little sadness, but really no surprise, that
Lawrence icon Don's Steakhouse is now closed. My friend and fellow
PLegger (also erstwhile
CBR contributor)
Seth Jones pointed it out and shares some memories of the place. I'll add that I think I was at that meal with Clay, but may be misremembering that and only heard about it when there was another group there that included him. Don's used to be great food, but in recent years had trended down and wasn't quite as nice as it'd been in the 70s and 80s. It's been quite a slow decline, but noticeable especially in the last two years.
I'm not really following the primaries and caucuses, but the American political scene is getting slightly more interesting with the wins of Hillary Clinton and John McCain the other night. It's nice to see that we're not just anointing someone and following like the sheep we've been the last seven years. BTW, does anyone else think it's ludicrous for the Shrub to proclaim he'll deliver a Palestinian state and peace in the Middle East before he leaves office?
Submitted a proposal to present a topic at the
NACUFS Midwest Regional conference this spring. We'll see if that goes through.
My new office at work is coming together nicely.
I will finish the first draft of The Well this weekend. I'm very close. Then it'll be a couple of edits and revisions and I'll share with some folks before I post it here. Anyone want to read it?
Mom pointed out
this video directed by Martin Scorsese, who can be REALLY funny at times. Get all the way through it for the real kick if you haven't seen it before, though. I LOVE the ending.
