Astrokitty Comics here in Lawrence. Joel does a great job of running a really nice, comfortable store. I don't visit the message boards often enough, but apparently not many folks do.
Mark Stinson is relaunching
Comixboard.com according to an email I received this morning which might've been precursed by being associated with the old Comic Creator's Network which ISN'T being relaunched and apparently no longer has any webpresence beyond the new boards. Not wishing to revisit all the old acrimony surrounding that former organization, I hope that the new board is something useful to those that choose to participate.
Schamberger's new comic
Too Late has its second installment up. I like how it's starting out. It's quite challenging to the average comix reader in that the first installment is all disembodied voices over establishing shots of Kansas City. There should be more indy comix like this, and I have some more thoughts on this that I need to cohere and write down, especially having just completed reading the entirety of Grant Morrison's Seven Soliders of Victory collection as well as Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier. I've known Rob for nearly seven years now, and I'm enjoying watching his ideas grow along with his talents, and Too Late is another step in the evolution of, perhaps, (and I'm calling it here so remember it, guys!) the next Brian Michael Bendis.
Remember to stop by
Ajasontville, please, to help grow the rather small population there.
There's still writing to do, but I'm actually vacationing today, and not really working. I'm boring and old, and the holiday story isn't finished yet, but it won't really matter. It'll get finished soon (next week) and posted in January. The other two stories are humming right along, if a little slowly, and other ideas are generating themselves faster than I can keep up with them. I have pages of notes that will help later on, I suppose.
I'm also beginning to write the final Quarterly update for the year, my resolution for 2008, and assorted stuff for work. Speaking of which, keep your eye
here for stuff from me on my day job. The official launch, I'm told, is going to be mid-January.
All right, that's it for today. We've got things to do today, not least of which is digging out from yet more snow.
