Okay, I've been continuing to think.
If Lulu.com is the best option for selling 6000 word short stories (and it appears to be) here's what I think I'm gonna do:
1 - buy a domain name.
2 - build a site to direct the domain to.
3 - the site will debut a new (to the world at large) 6000 word story by me every month.
4 - there will be a 1500 word text preview and an audio preview, too.
5 - there will be a link to buy the entire story as a DRM-fee pdf file for $1 from Lulu.com.
6 - at the end of the month, that story will be moved to a sidebar archive, still available for preview and purchase.
7 - return to step three and repeat every month.
There will be necessary forays into promotion in order to make it work, but I think it can. I think I've got this basic plan down pat and this will be the equivalent of writing, drawing, printing and binding a mini comic, only with a helluva lot less overhead. I'm hoping that a monthly schedule will appeal to those who might like my writing, and the price shouldn't be too outtasite for anyone who is intrigued by a tale and wants to take a chance.
Whadya think?
