Back in the Book We Go
As most if not all of you know, glynhogen and I were matched with a birth mother over Thanksgiving. That match has now fallen through.
We were aware that a big risk of being matched with a birth mother so early in the pregnancy is that something could come up later in the pregnancy that is outside our profile key; many tests occur between month 3 and month 7, and one of them could reveal a problem that we are not comfortable with. Our birth mother's last three appointments have revealed two of those sorts of things, such that if she were coming to the adoption agency now, we would not be shown to her. We wish her the best, but we are unable to move forward with her.
