"Mom!" said Erin Hahn, the thirteen year old daughter of Erica Hahn. "In the kitchen." Erica yelled to her daughter. Erin came through the door. "When do you have to be at the hospital?" she asked Erica. "In a few minutes, just wanted to make sure you got home okay." "Mommy?" Erica knew Erin only called her that when she wanted something. "What to you want?" "Can Dalila spend the night because I don't want to be here by myself." Erica knew her daughter really didn't want to be here by herself. She had talked to Erica before about being lonely when she was at the hospital. She wanted to spend as much time as possible with her daughter while she still can. "She can come over if it's okay with Karen." Karen was Dalila's mom. She was also an attending at Seattle Grace Hospital. "Okay, thank you Mom. I'm about to call her and tell her you said yes." "You knew I would say yes, didn't you?" "NO." Erin lied. She knew her mom would say yes. Erica picked up her keys, coat, and purse. "I be home around ten. Call me if you need anything. I will call to check up on you guys. There is money on the table for food." "Okay mom, have a good day." Erin said as she went to hug her mom and kiss her on the cheek. She held on to her mom longer than usual. She really missed her mom when she wasn't there. She was the only parent Erin had since her dad died in a car accident when she was seven. Erica kissed and hugged her daughter knowing she didn't want her to leave. "I will be back as soon as I can, I love you." Erica said to Erin. "I love you, too."
As Erica waked into the hospital she heard someone calling her name. "Erica!" She turned her head and saw it was her best friend Callie Torres. "Hey you." "Hey, did you want to go to Joe's tonight?" Callie asked. "I can't, I have to go home and..." Erica had to stop herself. Callie didn't know about Erin. She preferred to keep her private life private. "You have to what?" Just as Erica was about to answer, she got a call from Erin. "Hello?" "Hey, mom. I just called to ask you if we should order the food now or should we wait until you get home?" "Uh..." Erica tried not to reveal anything to Callie. "Do whatever you want I will be there later." "I love you, Mom." "I love you, too." Callie looked kind of hurt. Erica hung up the phone and looked at Callie. "I didn't know you were seeing someone." Callie looked hurt. They had been best friends for almost a year and Callie didn't know that. "It's not like that, that was..." "Who was it, Erica?" Erica was trying to figure out why Callie sounded so hurt. Little did Erica know Callie had been having feelings for Erica for a while. "Look Callie..." Erica decided she should just tell Callie the truth. "Callie that was" before she could finish her pager went off. It was a patient of hers."I have to go but I will explain later I promise." Erica walked off leaving Callie looking hurt and confused.
Callie was standing at the nurses station when she heard someone say "Excuse me." She looked down and saw two young girls staring at her. One of the girls had blue eyes and blond hair. The other had brown hair and brown eyes and looked like someone who worked at the hospital, but she couldn't put her finger on who it was. "Could you help us find someone, please?" Said the blond. "Who are you looking for?" Callie asked. Before they could answer Erica came walking down the hall. "Mom!" the blond girl yelled. "MOM?" Callie said confused. Erica knew that voice. She turned around and saw her daughter, Dalila and Callie standing together. "Oh,no." she thought to herself. "Erin, what are you two doing here and how did you get here?" "We asked Mrs.Daniels to drive us here since we were bored." "Erica you have a daughter?!" Callie yelled. The whole floor turned to look at them. "Yeah, Callie I do." Erica said. "Callie this is Erin and Dalila. Erin is my daughter and Dalila is her best friend." "Why didn't you tell me you had a daughter?" " Can we talk about this later?" "Yeah, we can."
