The Cruise Ship Captain Chapter 2

Casey's P.O.V.
I cannot believe that she said yes. I am so happy. Now I have to find something to wear. I go to my room and look through my closet. I told her to dress casual, so I have to find something dressy, but not dressy. After showering and straightening my hair, I look through my closet again. After an hour of trying everything I own on, I finally decide on a red silk short sleeved shirt and white slacks. I look at the clock and see that it is 6:55. I better get a move on. I walk out of my room nervous and anxious about this date. I finally get to her room at 7:01. I knock, waiting. I'm nervous. I can't stop touching my hair, straightening my shirt, making sure my pants aren't any dirt on my pants. I can't stop moving until she opens the door. She looks absolutely beautiful. She is wearing black rimmed glasses, a blue long-sleeved button down shirt and black slacks.
"Sorry about the glasses, I couldn't find my contacts." She says.
"It's okay. They look good on you."
"Thanks." She says while blushing.
"Your welcome. You look beautiful, by the way."
"So do you." She says
"Thanks."
"So where are we going?"
We are going to this restaurant downstairs."I say. "Hopefully you'll like it."
"I'm sure I will." She says as we begin walking.
We walk downstairs to the restaurant. After we are seated and have ordered I decide to get to know her a little better.
"So, uh, why did you decide to come on the cruise?"
"Well, Devin got me a free ticket." She says confused.
"No, I mean, yeah he got you a ticket but you didn't have to come. So why did you?"
"Uhm..."She say sighing. "Something happened at the hospital that I used to work at. Personally and professionally."
"What happened? If you don't want to tell me you don't have to." I say quickly. I mean, I don't want to pressure her and have her feel uncomfortable.
"A patient of mine, I had worked with for a few years was supposed to get a heart, until another heart patient got worse. So they had to give the heart to him. I will never forget the look on his and his wife's face when I told them that he didn't get the heart. Then a few years later I began working at the hospital that the other patient was at, and I found out why he got the heart. An intern that was in love with the patient cut his L-vad wire so he could get the heart."
"What happened personally?" I ask quietly.
"My ex and I got into a fight about it because I didn't know the whole story and I just walked away."
"That's interesting. After hearing that, if I were you I would have walked away ,too."
"Well, enough about why I left, why did you decide to become a boat captain?"
"Well, when I was younger, my dad and I used to build said boat. So, when I got out of college, I realized I wanted to actually control the bat instead of the wind. So, I got my boat license and worked my way up to captain." I explain.
" Speaking of boats, aren't you supposed to be controlling this one?" She says with a smirk.
"I got my co-captain to take over this one while I..." I can't tell her why I asked Brandon to take over this cruise.
"Because you what?" She asks curiously.
"Because... he always wanted to do one by himself and because, I wanted to get to know you." I confess blushing.
"Awww..."
"Shut up." I say laughing. "Where did you grow up?"
"I grew up all over. I'm a marine brat."
"Really? That's interesting."
Yeah, my dad, Gunnery Sergeant Eric Hahn."
"You were named after you dad?"
"Actually, no. I was named after my grandmother."
"Oh, that's cool. So was I. Cassandra Rodriguez. I just started going by Casey when I was younger."
After we talk for a few hours we realize that it is getting late, so I decide to walk her to her room.
"I had a really good time tonight."
"Me, too. Maybe we should do it again sometime." I say hopefully.
"I would really like that."
" Well, here." I say as I hand her my cell. "Give me your phone so that we can put each others numbers in."
"Okay."
"Well, I better get going." I say.
"Yeah."
I can't stop looking at her lips so slowly I lean in, she meets me half way and finally our lips meet and it feels amazing. After a few minutes we pull away and look at each other.
"Good night." I say with a smile on my face as I begin to walk away.
"Night." She says as she closes her door.
I cannot help myself as I do a little happy dance. I can't wait to see her again.
