Why are work days so long

and time with good friends so brief?

First I want to thank my hosts, drkaos &
mysticwench , for a fun weekend filled with lots of memories.

Friday morning I crawled out of bed during the wee dark hours, showered, dressed, fed and kissed the fuzzy one (tried kissing Kiera but she ran away), then headed to the airport... In copying the directions to the park and ride I'd forgotten to write down the exit number (which is a big western Washington no-no... our freeway exits have too freakin many names, numbers are easier), so I passed my exit by about 7 miles... still plenty of time and the people at this lot were super efficient so it wasn't too bad. It took three tries to get into the correct line at the United counter before I could check my suitcase then off to the security line which closed as I got to it, had to walk to the next one that was supposedly shorter (yeah, right), get through that just to walk all the way back to where the other one was then down to the subway (prior to this I didn't know there was a subway in SeaTac) to get to the other part of the terminal... The rest of the day went without issues (other than phones not working at Dulles but Meschelle and I found each other anyway).

Friday night we went to dinner at the Stardust restaurant in Alexandria where I think one of those meals could have feed all three of us. Then we walked around for a while. Saturday morning we slept in, then Kevin made breakfast and we took the Metro into DC to the National Gallery which closed earlier than we expected but was still fun, then we went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History for the last 8 minutes they were open and onto dinner at a wonderful Morrocan restaurant that Meschelle knew of... I don't think I've ever eaten so much in my life. If there had been six of is it still would have been enough food (not the place to visit while trying to lose weight)...

Sunday we went to the MD Ren Faire where I met several of Meschelle's friends who are a very warm (not to mention good looking) group of people. We saw the Mediaeval Baebes perform and had our CDs autographed. I drank waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much and had a fantastic time.

This truly was one of the best trips I've ever taken (and I'm not just saying that. It was hard to come home and get back)
