Faye Makes a Special Appearance at Eason's Concert
Eason Chan's DUO Concert Tour made its way to Beijing on Thursday for a stop at the Beijing Workers Indoor Arena. The 50,000 fans in the audience were treated to a special performance when Faye Wong suddenly appeared on stage for their duet 'Because of Love'. As Faye is known to speak little in public, she had "warned" Eason prior to the concert that she would leave if he attempted to speak to her. The first thing she did when she arrived was ask Eason for a special request: "I won't speak a word, so please do not talk too much. I'm afraid I'll start laughing." During their performance, Faye started to crack a smile on her face when she saw Eason step closer. Because she was afraid it would affect her performance, she said she would leave if Eason started to talk to her. Eason just nodded his head and said he understood. The organizing director also told Eason to relax, as the duet would be performed as the last song in the encore. As the stage would lower after the song, they wouldn't need to talk at all. Eason says that he knows he talks too much. Faye teased him, saying he should know by now that he talks too much. However both of them held up their end of the agreement.
Half an hour into the concert, Faye left a message on her Weibo which exposed her plans. "There are a few thousand patients at Workers who are waiting to been seen by the Yee Sung." (TN: Yee Sung is doctor in Cantonese, which sounds similar to Eason.) Faye wore an outfit that was half white half black, which matched with the theme of the concert. Eason was able to keep his promise to the very end and didn't say a word as Faye made her way on stage. The fans were ecstatic when they started to sing. It was only after Faye left that Eason started going wild on stage, laughing and jumping in his excitement. He started to improvise lyrics to the song, singing "I invited Faye Wong to my Beijing DUO concert. You can bear witness to this, it may never happen again." Eason says he felt so honoured she agreed to perform at his concert. He says that if he ever feels sad in the future, he'll just recall the memory and feel happy again.
