"My Daughter," first of a boom in Anhui TV idol dramas
Along with the high popularity of currently airing idol drama My Daughter, its producer and airing channel Anhui TV is beginning to take its place as a rising drama producer of its own. While most of Anhui TV’s idol dramas have previously relied on Taiwanese leads like Jerry Yan, Ella and Ming Dao, they have been moving away from that with more new mainland stars like Tang Yan and Li Yifeng, building a core actor group of their own. Despite Hunan TV’s position as the idol drama pioneer, Zhejiang and Anhui TV both have recently invested heavily in idol dramas since last year. As these investments increase, the results are bound to be good for everyone as the mainland idol drama industry increases both qualitatively and quantitatively.

My Daughter (夏家三千金)

My Daughter tells of the love and family relationships between the three daughters of the Xia family, a prominent real estate household. Chinese Paladin 3’s Tang Yan plays the adorable younger sister who wants people to like her, but not because of her family’s wealth. To do so, she hides her identity and enters into a rivaling real estate company and ends up as the young president (Roy Qiu)’s assistant. The two become quarreling lovers, only to be interrupted by his ex-girlfriend and a hot racecar driver (Xu Zhengxi) in pursuit of her.
Meanwhile, the more older and more prominent sister Youshan (Qi Wei) has fallen for a designer (Baron Chen), who it turns out is dating Zhenzhen (Zhang Meng), the Xia father’s illegitimate child. As the love stories unravel, more truths about the girls’ backgrounds and the family’s past are revealed, making the story more tangled than ever.

The ruthless younger brother Ding Yunchao (Li Yifeng) thought all he wanted was power, and so accepted an arranged marriage with an equally rich family. Yet the presence of Yongyong made him doubt what he really wants in life, and lead to a struggle between the brothers for love and power.
Unbeatable (无懈可击之高手如林)

Unbeatable is a tale of a battle of high level executives. Hu Ge plays the sales executive manager who was tricked into losing everything by his business partner. Lost in a world of despair, it was eventually a cheerful Internet writer Tang Yan, who re-awakens him. The two then set on an adventure to help him regain his empire, and perhaps even find true love in the process.
