Members to attend Golden Melody Awards; SS501 to star in Taiwanese drama?
The 21st Golden Melody Awards in only one week away, but TTV and Warner Music announced today that SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong won’t be coming. It was also confirmed yesterday that Best Singing Group nominee Super Junior-M won’t be attending as well.
Warner Music, which released SS501 albums in Taiwan, originally invited the group through their management company DSPMedia. Warner was apparently promised that the group would appear at the GMA’s under a temporary agreement despite the members’ contracts have expired.
They were informed by DSPMedia today that since their management contract with SS501 has ended, they can no longer make decisions over GMA-related matters. Warner also pointed out that they were having trouble getting information about the group’s visit, or what they had planned to perform.
TTV have requested Warner Music to contact the other four members for their availability. They confirmed member Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon will attend, but no words on Heo Young Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong.
In related news, Park Jung Min was rumored to be in talks with producer Cai Zhi Ping (of Meteor Garden, aka godmother of Taiwanese idol dramas) when he was spotted at Harlem Yu's concert back in April. Earlier this month, she confirmed they are indeed discussing about casting him in future dramas and he is currently studying Chinese.
