Actually, the producer should know that it wasn't China politicizing things, but Western outlets.

I doubt I'll get to watch Confucius until it's released on DVD... but oh well. Avatar is just pretty to look at. xD I mean, it's really worth it for the 3D, but I doubt I will ever buy it...

Same thing with "The Day After Tomorrow". The CGI is so impressive that one forgets the horrible story. And the fact that a particular area in the US survived, while the rest of us are screwed.

We're not called the Great White North for nothin', ya know. The Day After Tomorrow proves it.

I thought that older movies usually ARE pulled/screened less as newer movies are released. Just seems like a regular rotation to me, but I actually rarely go to movie theater (want to see AVATAR in 3D for the CGI though :D haha heard the plot is lame)

In any case, I am interested to see this Confucius movie too :3

I watched Confucius last night and have to say despite all the hype about the cast (Chow Yun-Fat!), director (Mei Hu!) and whatnot.. I kind of want my two hours back. The film itself is slow and flat. There's no action. It had the occasional beautiful shot, but that's about it. All I was left with was that Confucius was a clever man. Not exactly a shocking development.

(But it was still better than Cell Phone)

Also, it's pretty pretty widely understood, at least where I am, that Avatar was pulled for Confucius.

lol@ day after tomorrow

I love all sorts of genres of movies, from the slow paced to the action packed and everything in between, so I know Confucius will be enjoyable for me. BD

The majority of critics agree on The Day After Tomorrow: the story is flat but you'll forget it because the CGI is spectacular. And WAT. Filmed in Montreal and we're obliterated?? ;;

To each their own, right? It's probably more interesting if you know more about Confucius and his followers than I do. *cough*.. actually, this is why Confucius probably wouldn't do well in the West. But who knows, do you live near any smaller art theaters? It just may play there, especially if you live in a big place like Montreal.

It's okay, the whole of my state went under in the day after tomorrow as well, and we're known for our massive amounts of snowfall.

Le Clap (Quebec City region) shows international movies but RARELY movies from Asia. Luckily, they're showing Red Cliff. ♥ Last showings are tomorrow, though. ;; I dunno if Confucius will be shown, though.

And Odeon only shows Asian movies once in a while, too, much like the now defunct Famous Players. I saw House of Flying Daggers and Hero back in 2004 at Famous Players, I do believe.

The US isn't far from me, so with The Day After Tomorrow, I could have ran to the safe haven?
