Despite her explanation that Chinese talent agent Wang Ziqi was only a friend, actress Sire Ma was recently caught behaving intimately with the wealthy businesswoman.

According to Mingpao website, the 26-year-old actress, who took a two-month vacation to Europe with Wang earlier, was spotted in Shanghai with Wang last week.

The two women set tongues wagging when they were photographed holding hands and smooching frequently at the airport and in the restaurant. They were also caught kissing passionately on the streets, unfazed by the attention from passers-by.

When asked about their relationship, Sire, who attended an event in Hong Kong on 5 November, replied, "The reports were out of context. Only time will tell the kind of person I am and what happened at the time."

Sire also refused to answer directly when asked if she minds dating a woman, and stated, "I have a lot of friends like that around. They deserve to be respected too."

When pestered with questions on why she refused to make any clarifications pertaining to their relationship, Sire said that she has been misquoted a lot of times and does not wish to be victimised by the media again.

Meanwhile, sources claimed that Wang intends to groom Sire Ma as the leading actress for a new Chinese film she plans to invest in, and allegedly told everybody that "Sire is my woman!"

Upon her refusal to clarify the relationship, TVB has essentially frozen her status for a period of two months.  Fellow actors Wayne Lai and Moses Chan commented on the matter, with the former saying he was open-minded, but the latter saying that celebrities needed to keep their personal lives in order to present a better image.  TVB executive Virginia Lok reportedly ordered Ma to stay home and professes that she is against homosexuality.
