After changing the Chinese characters of her name recently, Hong Kong singer-actress Gillian Chung revealed that she hates her new name and stressed that it was not her own decision to change it.
According to China Times website, at the press conference of her upcoming movie "Fox Lover" on 23 September, Gillian addressed criticisms over the change of the characters for her Chinese name, saying that it was not her decision to begin with.
In response to netizens' complaints that she has been changing her name too often since her showbiz debut, the 32-year-old actress stated, "I didn't like my new name at all. But the management company said that the change would be good for my career, so I just followed suit."
She added, "Even I myself have issues about changing it, because I have been using the name for so many years. But the previous characters of my name was too refined and so unlike the real me."
When asked if the change in her name was so that she can be more lucky in love, Gillian retorted, "That's what the tabloids said, not what I said."
