There's a bit of a fire going just below town right now. It's buzzed the edge of town, taken down a few houses, and they've evacuated the south section of Paradise. My brother and sister-in-law were here, and they're gonna be heading out to Chico soon. We're staying in our house until they tell us to get out, or Paul's dad stops by with his truck and takes us up into the mountains. All the roads into town are closed, but they're letting people out. A few of our friends were forcibly evacuated, and at last check, the fire was on their road. Also, my mom's stuck down in Chico, as she wasn't able to get up the hill before they closed the roads. She's staying with Manda until she can get back home.
If you can't tell, I'm a bit frazzled. If anyone wants to keep up with it, either google "humboldt wildfire" or you can poke at the local news station
