You may remember I mentioned a disability pension not too long ago? As you'd assume, we need to fill out some paperwork and, of course, see the doctor to verify. I didn't want to go, but ended up rushing over there anyway, with my mother. He did the usual and we were on our way. We then picked up some takeaway, took it to my sister, and then proceeded to go home.

But today was a very fucking murderous day. It's been literally raining like a waterfall the entire day, and as the day went on it only got worse. By the time we were on our way home the rain had flooded certain roads, two of which happened to be our only route home.

We went up to the first route, noticing it was flooded. We thought we'd have better luck with the other route, so we turned on to it. At this point it was night time, so it took us a while to notice there were several cars in the middle of the road. Then we looked closer and realised: the road was flooded. Our car was sinking. Within a minute it was up to the doors, and we had to both jump out the window.

These routes happened to connect outside a club, where we went inside and everybody there was truly helpful! I was fine, short of being a bit cold, but mum was trembling with fear, and they helped to calm her down. I called my sister to tell her what happened, then we waited outside under the shelter to see what was happening.

About half an hour later they finally managed to get our car out, and parked it at the side of the road. They inspected it and gave it the okay, though it wasn't safe for driving currently. Everything was still inside, and we also called one of mum's friends to confirm the house was okay.

A very helpful guy drove us home in his 4wd. Then we basically ran inside and hugged each other, crying.

I've never experienced such a shocking event in my life. Thankfully everything is (reasonably) okay... and gosh, I feel so terrible about the other cars there. Two of them were still trapped when we left!

I'm sorry, I just wanted to vent. We're both fine now, so while any comments would be appreciated, they aren't necessary.
