I've lost seven pounds since three weeks ago. Sing my praises!
Now, I was really freaking tubby to begin with (grad school will do that to a gal), so I have eleven more to go before I restructure the diet and exercise plan for maintenance. (Which will be, for reference: 1600 calories on a day with no activity, plus whatever calories I burn off exercising.) I'm going to start paying attention to what I eat again this coming week... I took a week off, and still lost weight, but I'd like to make this a concentrated effort so I can look awesome again ASAP.
Really, this is brought on by the desire to wear all of my clothes again, including my soft brown pants, my old, worn-out jeans, that knee-length khaki skirt with the slits up the sides, etc. I can wear most of the things I own, but there are a few that I look at longingly every now and again. And if all I have to do is pay moderate attention to my caloric intake, it's a small price to pay. :)
